I know My current AVR won't support 4k so am I right to think of it will only send 1080 and TV will upscale it? My current setup is 5.1 and had no plan to go 7.1 or 9.1. Source is Blu-ray player and apple TV (apple store and Netflix) To enjoy 4k,I will use Netflix in TV and use TV digital audio output to feed into current AVR. Is this workable? YANG Posted March 29, 2018 Posted March 29, 2018 TV doing 2k to 4k upscaling seems not so common. Came back from Mustafa earlier, i only saw SHARP new models claims to have such feature of upscaling. TOSHIBA, PHILIPS, SONY, LG and even SAMSUNG no mention on such capibility...

jdh500 Posted April 28, 2018 Posted April 28, 2018 (edited) A bit late in the game, but I picked up my new Marantz AV8802a from a Sydney HiFi dealer today at a reasonably compelling price. I’ve upgraded from my 6 year old Rotel RSP1572 AV pre-amp. The Marantz should give me an opportunity to try Atmos surround, My current setup is 5.2 surround, likely will transition to 5.2.4 I’m also currently using a DSPeaker anti mode 2.0 to EQ. My dual subs, will eventually compare it to the Marantz inbuilt speaker EQ. And decide which one I’ll continue to use. Setup includes Paradigm Signiture v3 speakers, Elektra Audio 7ch HD2 and 2ch HD Reference Amps and an Oppo 205, using a 70in LED TV for general viewing and future 4K projector to replace an existing Epson 720P projector is still undecided. Apparantly there is is only one remaining new AV8802a with the Aust. distributor to buy, after it is gone it will be the AV8805 or runout AV7703 or new AV7704 which I also considered before deciding to go with the AV8802a JDH Edited April 28, 2018 by jdh500 Typos 1

Remember that such a flagship processor needs good amps too. Maybe you can ask Alpha or AV One to price match.. starting from 5500 down.. good luck!

agostino Posted June 13, 2018 Posted June 13, 2018 Hello bro, I own marantz 5012 when play SACD iso with my media player (audio pass-through) but my marantz apps signal input just showing rate: 48 khz whereas playing flac and wav file showing 44.1khz which is correct. Wondering should i get 2.8224Mhz when playing sacd source ? thanks !
