Hi all,

First time poster here. I'm looking to upgrade my nephew's TV speakers and have been trying to identify his current speaker setup to make sure the new ones I purchase are better!

Unfortunately, I only have old low quality photos with the speakers in the background. Not much to go on really. If I remember correctly, the speakers are about 60-70cm high with a yellow cone. It's either a 5.1 or 7.1 system.

Is anyone here able to identify the speakers in these two photos?

Many thanks in advance,

Koston

In order to answer that, we'd need to know what's wrong with the current speakers?

What don't they do, that you and/or your nephew would like them to do?

How and by what are they currently being powered?  I imagine there's currently an AV Receiver - which one?

Could also be these. Klausen audio, if that’s the case just about anything would be better.

Upon further inspection, you could be correct.

Are they “man in a van” speakers? ?

@Pops110, I think they are likely these 'van' speakers. I don't think my nephew can afford a $3000-$6000 B&W speaker setup unless he has been accumulating a lot of credit card debt!

@Marc, I've listened to the current speakers and they are worse than my fairly basic Sonos setup at home. I'm not sure about the AV receiver but they match the speakers so I'm leaning to it being the included Klausen receiver in Pops110's photo.

My nephew and his partner are about to move into a new place they have purchased and were looking for something smaller or in built. I quite like the clean setup of in wall fronts and ceiling rears and have suggested this setup to them. As for the room, I think the TV area is approximately 5m x 5m x 2.7m height but opens out to a larger dining/kitchen area.

Do you have any recommendations for in wall/ceiling speakers on a budget of $4,000-$6,000?
