aussievintage Posted September 23, 2019 Posted September 23, 2019 I like to buy good adequate speaker cable. I am not into super expensive high end cables, but I want something decent. I also happen to like flat speaker cable, just because of how it lays more neatly and doesn't tangle as much. So, I needed to make up a new set of speaker cables to bi-amp my speakers. I noticed Jaycar are selling this stuff. Not sure how long they have had it, but it appealed to me. It's flat, OFC 12.5x8.5mm and has a white trace for polarity. Looks good with some gold banana plugs fitted. https://www.jaycar.com.au/flat-ofc-speaker-speaker-cable-sold-per-metre/p/WB1740 just thought it might be of interest ...
Steever Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 My father uses this same cable from Jaycar in his system. It's just good quality cable and doesn't appear to detract from his listening experience at all. It's actually quite a nice looking cable too. I don't think you can go wrong really.

Yes, I thought it was a good solid alternative at a good price. Looks good with gold banana plugs. Here it is being used to test a small digital amp.

surprisetech Posted October 2, 2019 Posted October 2, 2019 Specs state a guage of 13-14AWG which is good for most applications, but this type of flat configuration is known to cause slightly higher inductance. Funny how inductance is the 2nd most important electrical parameter in speaker cables, but rarely ever given in the specs. Anyone have a few metres of this cable and an Inductance meter handy?
