DdDesign
I have just bought a new Cayin N3 DAP and put a few albums on by dragging them from I tunes. I was wondering if anyone can guide me on how to imbed the Album artwork into my album files? Is there some helpful software that I use to catorgize and sort all my music (currently in iTunes on a macbook) for using with a DAP? BATMAQN
I've found that a few of these softwares don't play the game completely with the artwork my simple work around is just download the particular artwork jpeg and scroll into the album folder usually works a treat, bit of a pain but hopefully most of your artwork will be done automatically by the software so you don't have to do too many manually. a.dent
This is what you need. https://dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/ss.php?sp=savealbumartjpeg It works really well and you can batch convert. It will save your iTunes artwork as a jpeg embedded into the iTunes file. It looks like this after.

If the artwork is embedded in the file tags, why do you also need the separate jpeg file in the folder?

I just know it works. That's the way I made all my iTunes music artwork visible on Daphile and Logitech Media Server. You wouldn't need it for Roon because that will always find it's own artwork and I understand can use the embedded iTunes artwork as well.
bob_m_54
OK, I don't have apple stuff, so not sure of the intricacies of Itunes. I can see that it might be required for a folder structure view, but for Album list, Album view or song list, I would have expected it to be able to read the embedded graphic in the AlbumArt tag. I have downloaded and run the script. Now I am simply dragging my albums from iTunes onto my sd card. On the sd card I make a folder for each album but I can't see a jpeg folder? Any help would be much appreciated :)
a.dent
Did you check that the Dougscript actually worked? Look at a folder in Finder and the jpeg file should look like the one I pasted. If not try running the script again. I've found it can't handle a huge batch so I had to do mine in a few smaller batches.
blybo
It's not free, but I love this easy to use library management software which works perfectly on Mac. Has helped embed artwork into my itunes files so I can use them in car media players and home streamers like Sonos and Moon MiND https://www.blisshq.com/
DdDesign
After some mucking about and an email to Dougs scripts, I finally have some success in copying files from iTunes to my new DAP. Doug suggested I use this script, which is pretty handy for organising your iTunes files for a sd card or usb drive. https://dougscripts.com/apps/m3unifyapp.php Its called MU3 unify and is pretty handy and only costs US$5 Or if you just want to imbed the artwork and transfer the files one by one this one is free or by donation and also works good. https://dougscripts.com/itunes/scripts/ss.php?sp=reembedartwork @ a. dent thanks for the link to Dougscripts.com
