Not really fair chats, everyone is just airing their opinion both for and against Caniffe's proposal and both sides of the argument have that right.

So let me see if I have this correct. We should all have the same opinion as a select few on this topic (and apparently all topics) otherwise we are to be lumped into a category where it is ok to insult and make derogatory remarks and generally be treated like some sort of enemy to be attacked at any opportunity.

Seriously, I used to respect some of the guys here, but after the behavior of late, dragging up past well buried issues and attacking anyone with a different opinion (and yes mello I am waiting for an apology as you have often demanded in the past for your comment saying I make no contribution to the forum other than "fart jokes" and should leave the forum) has made me reconsider this. And if that cements me in the minds of some as an "enemy", well, I don't need friends that petty and juvenile.

Sure; the overwhelming majority of DTV forum members are here because of their interest in DTV equipment or related technologies - but to believe that DTV is the only interest/hobby/indulgence that every member is compelled to have in their lives is a sad reflection on how "one dimensional" some people either are, or think others 'must' be...

DTV is an interest with great diversity of product, connectivity and implimentation. Start adding related technologies such as HT/HTPC/media servers, etc and it becomes even more diverse.

Diversity is something that makes the field of DTV vibrant, interesting and exciting.

I'd like to know how the proposed changes are going to maintain; at the very least or better yet; improve the current diversity of discussion I enjoy through posting mainly in the OT forum topics and from time to time (when I feel that I've got something relevant to contribute that hasn't already been said a million times before by myself or others to some newbee, that is...) in the "On-Topic" forums.

I started (as probably many did) looking at one sub-forum (PVR's) and branched out to others. I have some I spend more time in as I have a greater enjoyment of those aspects of "DTV" and then there is OT which is good for passing time with some good people (such as the Duck) and sometimes having a robust discussion on some un-DTV-related topic.

Personally at this point I think Caniffe should just make an executive decision because I sure don't like some of what has come out of this "discussion".

Hey don't pull yerself down momaw there's nothin wrong with some good ol' fart jokes can someone give some links so I can taste some of those rippers! I think any fart joke should be worth +2 on yer post count cause this place is getin way too serious! Pare wee Deaf Bhoy would just love ta be able to hear a fart in all it's 5.1 surround sound glory!

I believe the first shot was fired when someone said what he thought of people who post in off topic. If that comment hadn't been made then I would have left well enough alone. Instead I found it grossly insulting. I read quite a bit of the forum from time to time ...............just because I don't feel the need to post in the "mainstream" all the time doesn't in my opinion devalue me as a member. I mean wasn't HD a bundle of fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I made a flash-reflector / diffuser for my camera.

Thinking people here may be interested, I went to a fair bit of trouble to photograph / document what I did and made a post here out of it.

For some reason this "doesn't count" yet a newbies..."Ha Ha..... HD-DVD luzers, BluRay rks" is "more important" and gets counted, because he posted it in the BluRay threads ?
