Wine Drinker, Naa!

Featured Replies

Just thought I'd let you wine drinkers know I'll be in Clare (Clare Valley) tomorrow and I won't be touching a drop. All that farming space wasted on grapes! I might have a light beer but that's it.

The big thing is I'm actually going out of my neighbour hood. Not something I do often. I mean, I have to leave the system home all by itself.

OOooh! leaving the kids home alone

My kids left years ago. But if you mean my babies, yes! and I don't like leaving them.

agree planting grapes is a waste of space of farmign space given the grape glut we have. Hence I planted some grapes along my fence and its goign gang busters

I dont mind hte odd drop of the stuff though

do you eat grapes ? :)

The trip to Clare has been postponed until tomorrow.

So I have another day to whinge about grape growing.

'Tweeky', those days are long gone.

And yes I do eat grapes; bugger I'm a hypocrite

Yes it seemed for a while whoever had some acreage and a few bucks turned it into a vineyard. So today yes there is a huge glut.

So sometimes a good cleanskin is available from a premium winery for nics, for about the same price as a shyte cleanskin. Its a gamble sometimes.

Well I have survived my trip to Clare.

I've heard of dry wine before, so I think that's what you wine drinkers will be getting soon. It is very dry in the Valley of wine. I had a couple of bloody Victorian beers while there (Carlton mid strength), not bad, I suppose, better than wine. I have the family looking out for 'Dark Side of the Moon' wine, as I wouldn't mind a bottle of that to add to my wine collection of 3.

While there my brother in-law took me to his enormous shed to hear some American reel to reel tapes he said reminded him of his tour of duty in Vietnam. these were from a US radio station (1971) that plays oldies.

Terrible sound coming from the Sony reel to reel and Teac speakers though, but great music and he seemed to like the sound.

Heard Supertramp on the radio coming home so when I got home I played the best of Supertramp while downing a few Coopers Lagers and trying to ease the pain of a sun burnt right arm and a sun burnt

right side of my face.

It's good to be back home with the system and fridge.

Anyway, that's what I done today.

Sure thing . If I can't, I can let the family know and I'm sure they'll look after you.
