Pics from OS gent who built Bill Fitzmaurice Table Tuba horn sub....mine is the crappy unpainted plain wood version with Azura horns.

The sub puts out amazing volume...very clean.

Of course if you want more, go with the 'plain' Tuba sub...I built the Low Profile model, which can be 'hidden' better in a room.

I buy the rugs only so I can add them to the walls as sound deadening....!

Mrs not so keen.

I am looking to build a low profile sub also, I have no experience in building speakers but have a bit of woodworking skills, table saw and a router so thinking of giving it a crack. I have a decent amount of room available as it will be used to sit my LCR's on behind an AT screen. The only constraint I have is the depth has to be under 650mm. Any suggestions would a sub similar to what your building be a good option?

I suggest two sites.

Volvotreter for tapped horns

http://wp.volvotreter.de/projects/th-2/

I've built all models, including the massive 20Hz version, 2m tall.

Bill Fitzmaurice for front loaded bass horns.

I've built these two - amzing output.

(I built the Low Profile model)

For 'conventional' ("home theatre" sounding) subs, I don't focus on those, only musical sounding bass.
