  • Damn good idea Prof. There really are some super cheesy, sleazy avatars that remind me of what was considered OK in the 60's,when women were regarded only as cooks and sex objects.   I love the fema

It's pretty simple really. Over time SNA has evolved and there is a growing focus on making it safe for work and family friendly.    That means avatars reminiscent of the calendars some members had

he goes faster up hill and then turns left doing a kinda backflip and then nearly gets upright but then goes down again.

No

It's all an illusion.

;)

Aaaaaah that's where my Avatar went. Me, I like women that have an appreciation for music. My last Avatar was a poor defenceless woman who just happened to be well gifted by God. I think it's a shame that hot women with great bodies should be discriminated against. As for Mothers etc. being offended. My mum grew up in the swinging 60's and you'd be hard pressed to offend her. Frankly I find the curves of a Citroen C2v to be much more offensive. But, in the interest of Community will tone it down.

Oi! ;)

Oi! ;)

Do you actually drive the avatar'd vehicle?

Oi! ;)

:P

Funny

Oi! ;)

Was wondering if you'd bite. Haha.

Mine too. Thought it was a glitch at first so reloaded it. Disappeared again quick smart. I think it's all a little over the top tbh, people rushing about madly looking for something to be offended by - but rules is rules and if ya wanna play... I shall look for something a lil more appropriate. Actually, if I'm honest, my wife didn't like my avatar either - even when I pointed it that it may well have been her... Alas.

Buck the trend and try a cat avatar !!!! :P

You could try Thom Cat.........

There's no requirement to alter your aesthetic taste in women, just a request to be mindful that we are in a public space here and we are trying to provide a space to welcome people and grow interest in our hobby. I'm not personally offended by those avatars but I can accept that some people are and there's nothing to gain and potentially a lot to lose by needlessly offending them.

Happy to abide by the rules as I would suggest most people on here are...

Just a tongue in cheek point to say that in today's society people are quick to take offence to anything they can. One man's new Mercedes is a Hitler wagon to another. Do I take offence to a natural women's body or to a smoking baby as pointed out before? Or perhaps a bearded man with two middle fingers up is acceptable? I take offence at @Dirty-vinylpusher 's avatar as it promotes stereotypes of what aliens look like when all we have to do is watch Star Wars to see they come in all shapes and sizes!.

I've long been known as a man to smash through boundaries, defy convention and carve my own niche - but my friend, that may be a little to radical even for the likes of me...

Luckily my eye is blue and not brown... ;)

Avatar, mmmm, what about content @@Dirty_vinylpusher

:D

DVP's avatar challenges my beliefs.

We ARE the only people in the universe.

Really.

Hehe great clip, shame about the music :(

.....not sure what that had to do with me...?

(Or this thread.....)

:)

Nothing, but I thought you would like that.

The thread, yea I agree with the mods about Avatar's, but there is all manner of stuff out there that can be accessed by anyone on the WWW with a click of the mouse.. 99% of the Avatar's I see are really not that bad and "within reason" but that is only my opinion  :) The dog listening to the horn will stay for now.

Luckily my eye is blue and not brown... ;)

Yes but you won't escape unpunished as I hereby table a motion to ban 'clever' GIFs as well as cat avatars - which incidentally should be blanket banned from the internet under the 'so obvious & cutesy I'm gonna hurl' act of 2016.

What if I had a shirtless David Beckham? Is that still offensive?

Edited by Hi-Fi heathen

Beckham with no top?

I already was of the opinion he had nothing up top.

I'm experiencing avatar envy Shakester...

Hah!! Yours was my first 'choice' until I found this new one. Not as pleasant on the eye as the last one I had. I find capital G's quite disturbing.

I'm sure there's a song somewhere....ahh here it is:

Edit: Now, that G is offensive.

Why not give it a go and see if it gets banned. Probably passes the doesn't offend the partner/child/mother test!

I think this test thing, whatever it is, is flawed if not culturally biased.

Then again I'm not the one to argue with the private management. It's not like this is a Government funded site or something lol

@@shaky what happened?? Too much tongue and groove???!!
