For some this is a an old favourite, and will remember as a good bit of fun, for others who have perhaps heard off and never checked out this is well worth a visit this is a brand spanking re release for the 1994 classic. and James Cameron (along with a trio of his other films - titanic, abyss and aliens) has remastered this so its fresh and for today as though it was made yesterday and it has come up amazingly well. we only ever got the dvd here, i believe there was a spanish blu-ray about 24 years ago released, i dont have it to compare. some reviewers say cameron has been a touch aggressive with DNR and mastering (new colour pallete and such). For me I think back and we had a 68cm (26") 4:3 CRT TV back in 1994 infact true lies was one of first DVD i ever saw with phillips demoing the format at its launch in melbourne on a CRT TV ! now days we run a much larger screen and much more speakers and far more sophisticated systems and the source material needs to lift to match. good news is like with titanic and abyss though not to quite those lofty standards ..Cameron has delivered again here for us to enjoy.... a few screen shots below with us viewing on JVC N7 4k projector and delivered via our panasonic ub9000 4k uhd player... we are so lucky to be able to enjoy stuff like this from decades past in the amazing experience of how it presents today ...
