HI. I'm currently looking for a new dac to upgrade my current dac (Aune x1s). The reason for upgrading the Aune is it does not have any output volume adjustment so I have to control the volume through windows. The volume is also way too loud so I have to leave it under 10 most of the time. I have also put a want to buy ad in the classified but seems like people tend to hold on to their gear and the DAC v-1 rarely come up for sale. If anyone have one and planning to upgrade or sell please feel free to pm me. Due to I couldn't find a Naim DAC v-1 for sale that is within my price range, I have came with 2 options but not sure which one should I go for. Both DACs are around the same price range. Current system Source: Tidal Amplifier: Naim NAP 100 Speakers: Cabasse Minorca MC40 Dac: Aune X1s My requirements 1. headphone amp 2. Volume knob to control the output volume 3. Can be use as pre amp 4. USB input 5. Small enough to put on top of the NAP 100 6. remote (optional) Option 1 Naim Dac V-1 for GBP 899 around $1604 + shipping + import tax https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Naim-DAC-V1-D-to-A-Converter/224183982826 Naim DAC V-1 https://www.naimaudio.com/product/dac-v1 Option 2 RME ADI-2 DAC FS for EUR 969 around $1561 + shipping( $98) + import tax https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/RME-ADI-2-DAC-FS/313166531158 RME ADI-2 DAC FS https://www.rme-audio.de/adi-2-dac.html Option 3 Save myself 1k and buy the Topping Dx7 pro or Anything within the same price range The reason for choosing the Naim DAC V-1 is due to I already have the NAP 100 and DAC V-1 will be the ideal match because they are both from the same company. The problem with the Naim Dac v-1 is I will have to use some parcel forwarding service to redirect it to Australia because the seller only ships locally in UK. I'm not against parcel forwarding service but if something happen to the dac like defects or something like that, it will be a headache to return it to UK. For the RME ADI-2 DAC FS, I have seen a lot of the good reviews from many websites and forums. Like the Naim dac v-1 it ticks all the boxes. My only hold back with the RME is I'm not sure if it will pair well with the Naim power amp. Any advice and suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

RME ADI-2 FS DAC - AK4493 Version
upuln posted a topic in Stereo, Home Cinema, Headphones Components
Brought about two years ago new and is functioning with no issues. During last two years I have compared this DAC Topping D70, D90, Chord 2 Qute and the RME Adi-2FS is hard to beat DAC. DSP options such as tone controls, loudness, parametric equalizers are hard to find features on any other dac and are bonus. As RME moved to an ESS dac chip after fire at the AKM factory the AKM version is hard to find. Specifications: Paste "RME ADI-2 DAC FS Balanced DAC Headphone Amplifier AK4493 32bit 768kHz DSD256 Black - Audiophonics" to your browser. Comes in the original box with the original power supply, remote control, user manual and USB cable.
