  3. For sale is this beautiful CA-5200 5 channel Powerhouse, in mint condition at a fraction of the RRP. ($16K in 2016) This is a monster powerhouse!, (almost 400w per channel under 4 ohm load), listen to it, and you'll want it. I have loved this amp for years, but have recently sold my CLASSE DELTA collection and this amp is the last one standing. If you are into home cinema and you're an audiophile this is the amp for you, it sounds amazing in any application. Here's what you can expect: The Classé' Audio CA-5200 is as powerful, nimble and robust as you will find in the world of audiophilia. Its build quality makes a reasonable argument that this amp will function longer than you. The Classé CA-5200 has enough real power to light up the highest-end speakers in a 5.1 or 7.1 system, ranging from B&Ws to Wilsons to Martin Logans to Cantons to Magnepans to Revels. You never need to worry about having enough power if you own a Classé CA-5200. If you were to make a list of the best multi-channel amps money could buy for ultimate performance, value and overall sound, I am confident the Classé' Audio CA-5200 would be right at the top. Specifications: Power output: 200 watts per channel into 8ohm (All channels driven 1000w total) First 60 watts in Class A Frequency response: 10Hz to 22kHz Total harmonic distortion: 0.003% Gain: 29.1 dB Input sensitivity: 1.4V Signal to noise ratio: 108dB Speaker load impedance: 4 ohm (minimum) Dimensions: 445 x 222 x 534mm Weight: 55kg

  6. Sadly us home cinema guys are in the sub 1%, most people that stream content, does it to their TV, Ipad or tablets and so on. Those hardly know what difference it makes in a full blown home cinema. Normal streaming is just not aimed/focused on this market. I watch streamed content in my cinema, but mostly series and stuff and appreciate that it will not sound the same as a disc with "uncompressed Audio" if we were in the US or parts of Europe we could have access to kaleidescape, which is a different animal (Quality beyond UHD Discs) if someone in Australia wanted access to kaleidescape, I'm sure there are ways too. My point is, I don't buy movies to rewatch over and over, But when I buy a disc, it's the same price as going to the cinema, and I get to keep the disc. Either way, we're kinda spoiled. I have kids and they love to watch their streamed cartoons over and over again. (for like 10 bucks per month)..............ok 30 bucks for all services
  7. As the title says, can be 4k or the new 8k model
  8. For sale are these beautiful amps in absolute showroom condition. They have been in my home cinema for a few years now but never missed a beat. Absolutely fantastic sounding with so much dynamic range and headroom (they just idle while your ears bleed), I've had many power amps, and can honestly say that nothing ever came close. Superb for 2ch audio and stable into 2Ω . If you want audiophile sound for both music and full-blown Home Cinema, these are definitely for you, and will likely last longer than you as well! "OPEN LID FOR ILLISTRATION ONLY!!! NOT THE ACTUAL UNITS" CA-5200 5ch Power Amplifier, First 50W pure Class A Power: (continuous) 200 Watts RMS x 5 into 8 Ohms, 370 watts into 4 ohms Frequency response: 10Hz to 22kHz Total harmonic distortion: 0.003% Gain: 29.1 dB Input sensitivity: 1.4V Signal to noise ratio: 108dB Speaker load impedance: 4Ω (minimum) Dimensions: 445 x 222 x 534mm Weight: 55kg CA-2100 2ch Power Amplifier Power: (continuous): 100 Watts RMS x 2 into 8Ω, 200 watts into 4Ω Power output: 100 watts per channel into 8Ω (stereo) Frequency response: 10Hz to 22kHz Total harmonic distortion: 0.003% Gain: 29.1 dB Input sensitivity: 1V Signal to noise ratio: 105dB Speaker load impedance: 4Ω (minimum) Dimensions: 445 x 121 x 419mm Weight: 21kg
  9. Well as a general rule of thumb you would be able to place absorption/combo panels at the first and second reflection points. Those you can locate by someone walking on the side walls with a mirror, while you are in the MLP. When you see a speaker (left right or centre), there's a reflection point and you can treat that area, You can also treat the latheral and ipsilateral reflections. That's just a general rule, and a trick way to get you started. This topic continues, things like room decay measurements goes well beyond and require some serious instruments (very expensive sound metre). But if you wanted to treat your room, the mirror trick will work, treating your rear walls or ceiling with some diffusion also helps, but again be mindful that if you can't measure, then it's only a guess and hope game. In my own room I have achieved very good channel separation and very clear dialog, but my room is not silent, and that's a big downfall. Dynamic range it out the window, specially at low volume. I mainly watch late at night for that reason. On a side note, REW can measure room decay, there are some videos out there on that topic. The room treatment will effect the decay time.
  10. This is my actual room, still not perfect, but life is all about compromises. If possible, equal distance to the speakers and the "golden triangle" still matters. Object based sound requires you to be on-axis or as close to as possible.
  11. On a side note, when I ran 5.1ch I first I had my surround in the back, sounded ok but not right. I then moved them to the side which sounded perfect. Now in my 7.1ch the sides are actually on the sides still but 5 degrees forward. I would not put surrounds behind. Are you able to mount the speakers on a stand and test what sounds the best? behind or on side?

  14. Yes keep the KEF for sure! I would worry more about that almost square room and being that small. where everything is placed and the treatments you do will be key. But the speakers themself are very good.
  15. I have KEF R series in my cinema, and its awesome! I do get a little help from my Perlisten D15s Sub (soon to get another) who ever is claiming that coaxial speakers are not dynamic, I'd argue the opposite. Just look at Ascendo speakers, also a coaxial driver. Horn loaded or compression drivers are not always the answer. In your small new room, it don't have to be all that big.
