Hi guys,
So sorry about the useless state of this thread! i did not realize that my ISP had bombed out before my review could be posted. So without much ado .. here it is again.
Finaly moving up to Digital telvision was a good decision..
Firstly some info bout the box.
It is a Sansui SD settop box, purchased from myer for 89 dollars. Comes with 12 month warranty and 1 remote control , 1 Scart to rca cable, Digital out via COAX.
To keep it simple going to differentiate the good and the bad
the good
1.Excellent picture and Sound quality, No heating up issues as with other boxes.
2.Aspect ratio button on remote, with not much loss of picture even in Zoomed 4:3 mode
3. Very easy to set up and get going, Tunes automatically and picked all channels up first time.
4.Apparently Sansui has been purchased by the Coles Myer brand, so you can be asssured any issues will be fixed ASAP.
The bad.
1. No Svidio or Component output. It has RGB mode enabled.. but needs a TV with a SCART input for that to happen. OR purchase a Expensive SCART to component Cable.
2. Dodgy remote .. wont work always ... some times needs some coaxing to get it going.
3. Overall the construction of the remote dissapoints.
4. Cant thing of ne hting else ... except sometime Teletext button does not work straight away.. really crap in this part.
Overall .. a veyr good buy for 89 dollars i reckon. Posting this with the hope it may help some one
My 2 cents back to this forum.
Btw iam handing mine back tommorow .. as i need one with component output .. so maybe buy a topfield or something similar.
Cheers
