Hey All, This is what I think of the 52sz8r. My tv arrived as a replacement for my old 100cm that stuffed up and so far so good, at first i thought the image was a bit grainy but then i purchased a HD STB and now the image is very very sharp. I plugged my computer into it the other day and it comes up a treat. I am very happy with this tv and can't relly fault it except the cooling fan in the back is a bit noisey but that is drowned out by the speakers. Over all i would recomend this tv for anyone who wants a clear High Def image and large screen but a small price.

There is a new model DLP just released called the 52sz8r it is using the HD-3 chip and resultion is 1280x720

About 14 months ago I was buying a new rearprojection tv. I spoke to about 6 different sales assistans and all of them said that I should stay clear of the sony rear pros and my neighbour (who is a toshiba service agent) also told me to say away from them.

Hi, I brought a 100cm PRT rear porjection tv aroud 12 months ago. One day I turned the set on and it started buzzing and it had no picture. I called LG and they said that they would send a LG repair man out to see me. The repairist looked at it and with in 3 seconds he 'thought' he knew what the problem was so he ordered a part for it. I waited 2 weeks for it then he came around to fit it but then this didnt fix the problem at all. He then ordered another part, I waited for 3 weeks (without a tv) so then decided to call dixions, the company that was my repair agent, i called the number and got telstra saying that this company's phone has been cut off and is now out of bisness. I then called LG and complained and they said ok whell we will send out a repair agent from Sydney but you will have to pay the callout fee so I put down the phone on them. After a few months i called LG again to try and resolve the problem, they told me there is a new repair agent in newcastle so they sent him around. He was very helpfull but still he ordered parts and all atempts at fixing this tv failed so he put in a request for a new tv. LG agred to this and said they would replace it with a 132cm DLP in 7-9 working days. it is now day 19. i have been ringing them and each of them is telling me different stories. One says " Oh yes the tv is coming in a few days" then another tells me "the tv hasnt been ordered so i will order it for you" then another tells me" you should be recieving this tv you should only be getting a 111cm PRT rear projection" so i argued with her and got my way. then after many weeks of waiting i FINALY got the replacment. I am very very happy with it but i am NOT happy with LG's customer service.

The model number of the 132cm DLP is 52sz8r It is now on the lg website. Thanks

Hi, My old 100cm PRT Rear Pro broke down so LG replaced it with the 132cm DLP 52sz8r. The reason why it is so cheap is becasue it is an event model, thats what LG told me and will only be released for a certain number of months then will be replaced with a near exact model for a much higher price. They say that an event model is sold cheap still with high quality but it is just entising people to buy LG products. Thats what LG told me i'm not sure if they are telling me the truth or if they are full of ****. (Also a bloke at JB HiFi told me the same)

Hi there, I just recieved my new LG DLP 52sz8r and I think it is just great. Mine is a replacement tv because our old 100cm Rear Pro stuffed up so lg replaced it with this set. Im very happy with it.

Hi there, the LG DLP 52sz8r is now on the lg website. I just recieved mine today and it is excellent, i watched some HDTV last night and the picture quality is supurb. We got the tv for free from lg due to our old 100 cm rear projection breaking down and lg tried to repair it but then it was going on 5 months without a tv cause it took so long for parts etc so they just said have a new tv. It is great becase we went from a 100cm SD bottom of the line tv to a top of the line 132cm HD DLP. The picture quality is great inside a dark lounge room much better then in a bright harvey norman show room. I saw it at BingLee for $2999 with bonus DVD recorder. Well worth the money i rekon.
