  2. I love the mid 90s Sony ES gear. Just got to obtain a Sony TC-KA7ES and a CDP-XA7ES both in Champagne gold in mint condition and I'm complete
  3. The thing is the Primasonic has a different (lower) price point so its weird that AVS would feel the X5E which is priced much higher would be compeition for this? Dissapointing in AVS, but as they are also a seller of specific brands I guess they have to walk a fine line. I noticed this when people started complainging about the dissapointing measured specs that Jason Turk posted for a Sim2 projector. Sim2 must of complained and from that point on in his reviews no specs for any projectors were posted. It's there house and we are just guests there so I guess they can run it as they see fit.

  6. WhatHiFi Review Up- http://www.whathifi.com/Review/Marantz-NA7004/ Some more thoughts that I have from using it over the past few weeks. - I am leaning back to FM from DAB+. DAB+ is good for stations that are on the AM dial, however with the low bitrate on most stations FM is the go here. That and the FM tuner in the Marantz is truely superb. - M-DAX is totally useless IMO. The best of the four settings it offers is OFF. It just compresses the sound to much for low bitrate sources. - From the DAB+ Info button I can see it uses the Frontier Silicon's Venice 7 which from reading around seems to offer the best reception out of all the FS chips. - Still loving the unit Some info from around the traps- - In operation the unit uses 17 to 22 watts. In Standby mode, with no standby network 0.4 watts (which is without the unit keeping a constant connection with your home network), and with the standby network engaged is about 5.4 watts.
  7. User manual for our unit now online- http://www.marantz.eu/attachments/products.../dfuna7004n.pdf Some impressions from a French reviewer- http://www.opus51.fr/les-tests/item/104-ma...-na7004-le-test Use http://translate.google.com.au/ to translate.
  8. What heat No bugs so far. Just would like the WizzApp developed more. Otherwise a pretty solid product.
  9. Just got the new version of the WizzApp from the Apple store (its free) and just have contolled the NA7004 from my Iphone. Cool stuff. It display the CD Cover artwork for the music its playing from my server (Im using Twonky) and gives easy controll over the NA7004. There are a few things that could be added to the app, I just have to find where I can send some suggestions to Anyway enjoying the unit more and more.
  10. All good? Sorry I couldn't the avi longer as my memory card for my digital camera is small.
  11. Just sent you a quick avi file. I'll think you'll be happy Any other questions ask ahead.
  12. Np. Also the NA7004 just advised me a firmware update was available. 11 minutes later and its update, though it would be nice to know like Denon does with its firmware updates what was fixed/addressed and what features if any have been added. Enjoying playing with the Media Server side of things. So much for the Squeezebox, though its IPeng app and Sonos do make nice IPad apps. So hopefully Marantz will follow suit.
  13. Just got the Media Server setup in all of 2 seconds using Twonky. The Marantz found it straight away and it was playing my music flacs, mp3s with no issues. It is very quick going from track to track or folder to folder. Just need to try out the Wizz app when its released for the NA7004 shortly to see cover artwork etc So fay very happy. As for the Chinese language support, when I copy those characters into XP here all I get is sqaures. Do I need to install Chinese language support here? And if so how?
  14. No probs. Will test that for you when I hook up the Network side of things.
  15. Okay just hooked up the FM aerial before I get to DAB+ as one of my favourite radio stations is only on FM- http://users.tpg.com.au/spizzeo//na5.JPG (Sitting in a temp location, until my MA rack shelf comes) Verdict from cruising around the channels in FM is that I can finally retire my prized Sony ST-SA5ES Tuner. The sound from the anaolgue outpus on the Marantz NA7004 is excellent and the scrolling text from RDS info is so fluid (I love the display on the Marantz)- http://users.tpg.com.au/spizzeo//na6.JPG (Sorry for the Blurry picture) The channel scanning is so quick, and it didn't miss picking up any stations. The only features that I'll miss from the Sony is the function button that told me the strength in db of the channel that was tuned in. Very handy it was to see the strength of the signal for myself, whereas the Marantz just shows the same stength icon (which is shown in the pictures above next to the RDS icon) regardless of whether it is a strong signal or not. But the fact that I will now retire my Sony is a testament to how much I like the Marantz for FM. Now on to test the all important DAB+......................... This is my first DAB+ product so I didn't know what to expect with hearing about the low bitrates used here. I hooked up the indoor antenna that came with the unit and it did its scan and picked up nothing. Oh great I thought, but I expected it as my HT room is in the bottom of a 2 story house in a very hidden location. So I hooked it up to my outdoor TV/FM Antenna and walla it picked up all 30 stations and I got 100% reception. Woohoo- http://users.tpg.com.au/spizzeo//na10.JPG Quick impressions. Well after listening to DAB+ I am pretty happy with the DAB+ quality. I don't know if it is the Marantz DACs doing their magic but it sounds very nice (not tinny), with good bass. Nice job Marantz. Some FM stations sound better than the DAB+ ones and some are the other way around. Luckily I now have the choice to pick which individual station is best for sound quality between the 2 (FM/DAB+). The Marantz NA7004 display once again is fantastic showing the scrolling text for songs, gives bitrates, signal strenght, and frequency. Tuning once again is super fast. http://users.tpg.com.au/spizzeo//na7.JPG http://users.tpg.com.au/spizzeo//na8.JPG http://users.tpg.com.au/spizzeo//na9.JPG Tomorrow I'll give Internet Radio a try and will leave Network streaming on the back burner possibly until I have the unit fully installed in my rack and I download the app for the NA7004. Any questions feel free to ask.
  16. Not a worry. Knew it before I ordered it, just wished the whole front was metal and not part.
  17. Got mine yestarday. Sitting here Just need to set it up- http://users.tpg.com.au/spizzeo//na1.JPG http://users.tpg.com.au/spizzeo//na2.JPG http://users.tpg.com.au/spizzeo//na3.JPG http://users.tpg.com.au/spizzeo//na4.JPG Will set it up either tomorrow or Saturday and give you my impressions. The only dissapointing thing so far is the plastic sides on the front. I mean they use a nice metal center, and the unit itself is heavy, why couldn't the finish the metal to the sides. Just being picky I guess. Also ordered my Middle Atlantic Custom Cut Faceplate and Shelf as they just listed the NA7004 in their database. Happy times

I mean they use a nice metal center piece on the front, and the unit itself is heavy, why couldn't the finish the metal to the sides. Just being picky I guess. Anyway I'll post my impressions in the NA7004 thread in the Digital Television and Radio - Off-Topic section of the forum. Also ordered my Middle Atlantic Custom Cut Faceplate and Shelf as they just listed the NA7004 in their database. Happy times
  19. Just got back from Challenge HiFi here in Adelaide after placing my deposit for a unit. They placed the order today and hopefully Qualifi will send it to them quickly so I can have a play with it before the end of next week. Let you know
  20. Still waiting to get it from a dealer, and they could only get the black color for Australia But I'll still get it
  21. Just been told stock has arrived in the warehouse here in Australia. The wait will soon be over. Just got to get a unit into my hands
  22. Had my heart set on the Denon AH-D7000, but your post has inspired me to look more closely at the Sennheiser HD800
  23. Im not French Their from the Product/Marketing Manager for Marantz France. Some other cool news from him- - Is there's an app planned for iPhone / iPod Touch / iPad? Didn't quite get the last point but it all sounds nice. I also like the simplicity, fluidity and speed of navigating the files shown in the vids.
