  1. Hi folks, Have some equipment I have been lugging around from apartment to apartment for the last couple years and just haven't used. I have the following: Cyrus CD8X - Black - serial number CUE01252 - In it's day was circa $2700 Cyrus PSX-R - Black - serial number HCU01348 - makes the CD8X sing Cyrus FM7 - Fantastic FM tuner Review of the CD8X here including comments regarding the addition of the PSX-R. Cyrus info on PSX-R here. Cyrus info on FM7 here. Will take $800 ono for CD8X, $600 ono for PSX-R, and $650 ono for FM7. All located in Auckland, bottom of Parnell. I have the original box for the CD8X, no packaging for the other two. Best to call me on 0272203636 or click to email me. Cheers Ralph
  2. I build them in batches. So these are the last 7 from the current batch, then may do some more in 6 months or so. Thanks for asking though. It's a really fun business, I get to talk to vinyl lovers all over the world. Cheers
  3. Howdy all, Having a clean out as moved into a smaller place. Have a few things that are surplus to requirements that are listed on TradeMe. 1. Cyrus Pre VS2 pre-amp and 6 Power amplifier http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=561013340 Bought these new in NZ in 2008. Great condition and have been in dry storage for last 3.5 years as upgraded to Image Revelations and then a Musical Fidelity hybrid amp to power the speakers (yeah, yeah.. I know we've all been there!). 2. DIY Turntable - Rega 301 arm, 35mm acrylic platter, Rega bearing, 65mm plinth and extras http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=561050261 Built this about 6 years ago and used until 9 months ago. But recently got a hell deal on a Pro-ject RPM 9.2 Evolution, so it hasn't been used for the last 9 months. Very cool turntable and sounds great but as it's a DIY I think best to sell as-is, where-is as a project or parts. Comes with spare parts - 1 * Rega sub-platter and bearing, 1 * Rega sub-platter, 3 * Rega ball bearings, that I purchased as part of the build but have never used. 3. Very VERY cool Cyrus System Commander remote Control http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing.aspx?id=560206828 This is the macdaddy of all remote controls. The size of a paperback book. Can control Cyrus amplifier, tuner, CD, Mission AV/Multichannel. Ad I don't run Cyrus anymore it's surplus. These are all on TradeMe but would love them to go to a good home. PM me or call me on (027) 220 3636 if any interest. Also have about 7 KiwiRCM record cleaners left from the last batch manufactured. RRP is $499 but make me an offer if you're interested. Happy days!
  4. Happy to do the same thing as I did for StereoNet.com.au. Can include 50 inner liners and a brush for the $499 price. Also includes tracked shipping for NZ customers. And if there is anyone buying in the Auckland area I can give a 5% discount for cash payment as I avoid PayPal fees. StereoNet bought about 35 units last year so given size of NZ market I would be happy if the offer above kicked in at a dozen units. I haven't had pics taken yet but will do and post them in this thread. Cheers
  5. My cleaners are back in stock. Happy to look at an AudioEnz group buy?
  6. We're putting together a retro room at work and I would love to put an RX-505 in it if anyone has one in good working condition? Thanks in advance.
  7. Looks like following are yet to be delivered. Clydemount Hero Kid idiotek vinyladdict vmhf
  8. Folks, The absence of a drain plug was briefly discussed before. This was a conscious choice on my part for a couple of reasons, first it's simply a point of failure in regards to leakage or losing the bung, and I didn't want to introduce the possibility of fluid coming in contact with AC power. Second, the process of rinsing the unit by draining through the rear port and swishing water through the unit increases the likelihood that the interior of the unit is kept clean and therefore performance of the suction tube and adjustable vent is maintained by avoiding the accumulation of dirt on the moving parts of the waste tank. However, if you really want to drill a drainage hole then I strongly recommend you read this http://reefkeeping.com/issues/2002-04/jg/index.php. Acrylic is not straight forward to drill as it can chip and/or crack thus compromising the water tightness of the waste tank. So this is a 'do so at your own risk thing'. Really pleased to hear the great results SNA members are having. Happy Cleaning! Cheers
  9. Folks further to this I have just processed refunds of shipping costs to the seven folks who have machines still in Aust Customs. These have been sent to the email address you used with PayPal. Ralph
  10. Folks, Just got off the phone after an hour with NZ Post. They have now started a formal inquiry into this. Summary is that a few RCMs did not leave NZ until the last few days, however the majority have been delivered. NZ Post has no reason for why these seven parcels did not leave NZ and are looking at it. So at the moment there are seven RCMs still to be delivered and these are all sitting in Aust customs. NZ Post is unable to tell me how long they would be in Aust Customs. Again I apologize for the frustration some of you have experienced with this. List below in alphabetical order. 11. Folks, The units are insured, and I stand behind the product AND the shipping. FR, you are very generous but there is no need for you to take any steps to support the group buy other than the effort you have already put in to organize this. I sincerely apologize for the length of time it is taking for these to make their way across Australia. I have no explanation as to why it has taken so long for them to migrate out from Melbourne. They were all shipped on the same day and you all received an email from me on the same day with shipping advice. If anyone is concerned about not having received your RCM to date, then I am more than happy to refund your payment pending delivery and you can repay when it arrives. For anyone that has run a small business using PayPal you will understand that this comes at a significant processing expense but I am more than content to eat this to maintain reputation. Unfortunately there have also been a couple damaged in shipping. I am disappointing and amazed by this as with both units there have been big holes whacked in the sides of the units. It takes some serious abuse to knock a hole in 6mm acrylic so have absolutely no idea how or why this would have happened. Particularly since I worked with a packaging company and took their advice in regards to the bubble wrap and cartons used. However this is my issue not yours. I have already committed to both parties with damaged units to replace them, and as said above stand behind the product and shipping. So, if anyone has the slightest concern about not having recieved their units, please PM me and I will give you a full refund pending delivery. I trust the SNA members to then make payment when the units arrive. Cheers Ralph
  12. Sorry mate havent been paying attn to email... bad form on my part. No longer for sale. Apologies
  13. http://www.trademe.co.nz/Electronics-photography/Home-audio/Turntables/auction-364480019.htm Looks very Rega'ish... Anyone seen one before?
  14. Hey folks, been following the conversation on shipping. I would appreciate feedback on how you think I could make this clearer? I don't like anyone feeling like I have misrepresented anything. Back on the first page of this thread (post #8 of this thread) I did mention "Free shipping to Aust. Note that free shipping to Aust is via NZ Post economy parcel which believe it or not is 2-3 weeks according to website. Expidited shipping is possible but would cost an additional $70nz per unit.", and followed this up with an email to all group buyers which said, "I'm please to confirm that your order shipped today via NZ Post Economy Parcel. Note that you should expect your Kiwi RCM in 10-14 days. NZ Post Economy Parcel does not offer track and trace. However for your records, your postal receipt number is CV XXX XXX XXX NZ." So as this is my first experience with a group buy of this nature I would love any feedback on whether there are better ways to manage the expectation around shipping? I really have no idea whether stuff ships through Christchurch or not, but I'm not sure that is the point - I really want all SNA'ers to have a fantastic experience with your RCM and really value all feedback as to how I can make the product, and the purchase experience, as good as realistically possible. Kind regards, Ralph
  15. Get a mains powered fan at bunnings from the venting/extractor fan area, a thermostat and 10m extension cord. Cut the cord up and use it to wire the fan so it only turns on when the thermostat trips. Parts should be about $60.
  16. Woo hoo! Good stuff they are arriving early! Folks when you first set em up you'll have a tendancy to crank the adjustable vent all the way closed to maximise suction. This really isnt neccessary, as it will wear out the velvet lips very quickly, and can also cause the suction tube to bind as it will come down too far and may stick in the down position. The best way to adjust the vent to your vac is to remove the anti slip matt, then attach your vacuum amd turn on the vacuum with the vent all the way open. Then close the vent so the suction tube goes down. Then close the vent about another quarter turn. You'll get the hang of this pretty quick. Cheers Ralph
  17. I've used empty drink bottles, milk bottles... Haven't had ant issues.
  18. I have a sw150 for sale if you're interested. Moved to a new house and no longer have separate tv and 2-channel rooms so using REL for both now. Cheers
  19. Folks, I have an elite screens 92" cinitension motorised screen w IR and RF remotes. We've moved to a new place with no where to use or store it. I have had it in the garage of our old house for the last month but its a bad place to store it and it needs to go. So I'll take any reasonable offers on this. Screen is in good nick, up and down needs an adjustment - simple job if youre patient w a screw driver. Must be picked up in mt eden asap (open homes start tomo). So get a motorised screen cheap! No reasonable offers refused and some unreasonable ones may be accepted! Cheers
  20. Folks, All units shipped this morning. Note that NZ Parcel Economy Post does not include track and trace. Quoted delivery time is 10-14 days. You will already have received an email from me with your post ref number. I wanted to say what a surprise and delight it has been to experience the response from SNA members and the trust that you have placed in a kiwi start-up. I really look forward to hearing about your cleaning experiences and new found joy discovering and listening to vinyl. Special thanks to Full Range who has gone well above and beyond the call of duty. Mate I look forward to one day meeting up face to face and having a beer with you. Thanks to all Ralph Cheers
