  4. I had a Jungson ja88d-09 for a while would be interesting to know where it all sat against it... Great thread! I really "need" a decent amp for my studio 125's too many to chose from and I've always got that "spend a little more to get that next rung up!"
  5. Hey guys, Re airplay - are people putting in researched real addresses in austria or just all phudsf? lol. Just thinking from a IT point of view...
  6. I'll pop in and say hi it seems a lot of WA comments in this! I have read all this with great interest. I would be interested in hearing the 2 side by side and given the opportunity would fly over.... let me know! Look i agree with all sorts of comments in this thread.... as i tearily listen to some music from my computer over hdmi.....argh ! But i think the importantly thing to consider here is: IS 3k for a cd player a lot? for me yes but in a lot of circles probably not and if.... it sounds a LOT better than other 3K devices then awesome. I do however baulk at the price over the std unit but as others have stated what price can you put on R&D - just makes a lot of sense to know the person and get mates rates lol - its a hobby. enjoy.
  7. Hey guys! Ye I do regret selling the Jungson - have even thought of getting another but the size.... I really really like the proacs too and don't think i would ever get rid of them... Im just not up with all the lingo of amps and know whats good or not... other than of course listening for myself and instantly knowing.... Price wise I'm really not sure, the family man in my says least possible without compromising sound q but the long lost audio purest in me of course wants a jungson sound again..... So I'm open to suggestions and good little nuggets and gem of amps from now and yesteryear hopefully under say $500 As i said i don't mind starting off with 1-$200 like a old sansui/nad/rotel but don't know what was good and what to avoid.....
  8. Hi guys, Been away for quite a while a 2yo and a newborn does that.... I have some Proac Studio 125 speakers that desperately need a nice little amplifier if anyone has some good suggestions or has a amp they think would be suitable please let me know. I had a Jungson JA88d09 powering them for a while which was very nice but it was a bit big and i had nowhere to properly house it. So looking for something around the normal size !? and hopefully has a phono input as well. Second hand not a problem as long as its a1 mechanically. Not wanting to spend huge amounts and keen to start off with something modest and build up again. I just have to get them off a old yamaha ht receiver.... Regards, Matt

  14. oh total bummer man - im too late at seeing this would of loved to got the a400 - been wanting one for a while i've got some Proac Studio 125's desperate for a little amp and in Perth!...
  15. Yes I've been meaning to take it back only got it this week so should be ok. I don't know what to say to those who reckon it's great..... Other than I would hate to listen to your worst concert you own on blu ray if this is the best
  16. at checkout is it better to pay in GBP or its convert thing to AUS - looks to be about $10.00 difference between them converting and "live" although do your credit card company's slug you a intl fee?
  17. I didn't buy 9 speakers to want to listen to stereo on a new age latest recorded concert on Blu Ray! All im saying is this could of been a cracker disc with supurb imaging and vocals using the 5.1 but instead its ruined and sackable as far as im concerned.... how anybody in authority let this get thru is unbelievable! I'm willing to bet that a major muck up of actual recording happened.... Just listening to the 2ch in stereo only and its terrible imho also.... his voice is splack sqrch and when he talks in the intro of the songs its downright terrible - the input of his mic is regularly over driven and the result is a digital bloom sound with crackling... The strings sound fine indeed the orchestra - but his mic and vocal is terrible.... Off my wagon now - normal service resumed.
  18. Im from Denmark too...... The town that is..... Welcome Lars.
  19. Just a warning more than anything: http://www.jbhifionline.com.au/dvd/dvd-gen...-blu-ray/580435 Stings live in Berlin blu ray - supposedly in 5.1 - Well the mastering team and mixer decided that it was a good idea to have every speaker doing the same thing.... thats right a muddled echoing bag of poop. Stings voice coming from behind you and mashed up 5.1 stereo mix..... blah Beyond a total joke in this day & age.... You have been warned!
  20. Are you sure you paid that amount? If you go to amazon.co.uk Bourne: $17.99 gp Matrix $ 17.25 ahhh i see now - you've been buying the second hand ones..... man i thought you must a had some genius code or something!
