I also recommend the french cop film MR.73...a dark and depressing tale with lots of violence...google is your friend...

Try some french films like "Crimson Rivers I and II" though first film is better. North Face is a german film about climbing the Eiger Mountain during the 1930's ...awesome film. Sector 13 is a cool 'popcorn' french film...likewise Dobermann with Vincent Cassel and his wife Monica Belluci. One of the best foreign films on blu-ray has to be another Cassel flick "Mesrine"...one of the better films I have seen in years...Mesrine II was a little slower but still ok. Of couse the Milllenium Trilogy is awesome, "girl who..." series for the uninformed...lots of option, these are just a couple off the top of my head

Has anyone spotted copies of the Dark Knight on Blu-ray for the reported $20 in Melbourne's western suburbs or CBD? Everywhere I've looked (JB Hifi and Target) there are none.....any help guys?

Yep I have done that, firmware is 1.3.158 and done a full factory reset before and afterwards and yet the problem persists........ Here is a picture of my tvix's screen showing the weird double image... excuse the poor quality, taken with mobile phone camera. Any ideas?

Hi guys, I have an issue with my 6500A (poor description to follow). Whenever I hit stop when playing a MKV file, the Tvix goes back to the file selection screen (VIDEO). This is when I get 2 crazy looking 'ghost' or shadow images of my file names flash across the screen for about 2-3 seconds. The image is doubled up as in on both sides of the screen. This is also accompanied by 2 horizontal and 1 vertical electrical lines that appear on the screen at the same time. These images only appear when I hit the 'stop' button and player returns to the Video file menu, no other time. I have a 1 TB WD 3.5 drive inside the Tvix and use a number of extrenal 2.5 drives as well. This image appears eveytime I stop playing a video file regardless if it is a MKV or AVI etc. Also no difference with internal drive in or out. It is connected by HDMI to a Pioneer LX508 and optical to a Rotel Surround Processor. Does anyone know how to fix this issues, thanks. P.S. I have a screen shot but I can't attach the image to email, no icons appear when I toggle side panel. Cheers, Furball

Does the Bd35 have a playback/resume memory for DVDs or more importantly Blu ray disks? Just bought band of brothers on BD (excellent quality) and stopped the player half way through the first disk, when I resumed play after 10 minutes, I had to manually search the place in episode where I had stopped previously. Also get some motion 'shudder' when playing on 24p, how do I fix that? Yorac I downloaded the Pd 35 FW 1.2 with firefox before reading your comment about IE and it had no issues...somebody must have fixed the problem with the last Firefox update.....

Wanted to ask, what size hard drive (2.5 or 3.5 inch ) fits the M-6500A and will it take SATA 5400rpm or SATA II 7200rpm speed drives?

Personally I prefer the option of mixing and matching components for this unit and would go for the Breakdown Price (just bare bones unit). Then if I wanted to upgrade parts (HDD size, tuner options) in the future I could. Some others would obviously go the complete unit (Tuner/HDD etc). I like the idea of flexibility in whatever I purchase because I always heavily research any product I buy to be best informed. Most of the people on this forum seem to be in the majority of "informed" or even the "obsessed" camp when it comes to technological awareness . If you want my opinion Samscoms be super smart and give the choice to the consumer, both breakdown and bundle packages for sale, capture all sectors of the market. Any issues to be had with fan control/overheating have apparently been addressed with the new V2 of the 6500 A and the user interface is slightly better out of the box in my opinion compared to the new Popcorn A110, (must be girlfriend/wife friendly) along with a better remote. Samscoms please keep us informed as to progress on website and 6500 interface information/video. Cheers

Thanks for the information Samscoms, what is the warranty on these units to be? 3 months? 12 months? Also as I don't watch FTA TV I have no need at all for a Tuner to be fitted, obviously this would be a an option yes? Paypal purchasing would be a great idea when you get your web page up and running I can wait another 4 weeks and if as you say, you will look after Forum members on price I will certainly be buying at least one unit from you but minus the TV tuner and HDD option

Samscoms, Any chance you can show some pictures of the "video" player pages, i.e. what the menu and sub menu screens look like when you select and play a MKV file for instance? Does it look/act similar to opening a folder in Windows say or different? I also would prefer to buy the unit without a Hard Drive, it's easy enough to add one! Samscoms...you make your prices/options good enough (option for NO hard drive to keep price down) and I believe you would make a killing! You can import a unit directly from the US for approx $500.00 AUS with no HDD included, thats the competition you are up against. What city would you be distributing from? Melb or Sydney?

Excuse my ignorance but after looking at the Amazon site I couldn't find any specific listing for a 50% Blu-ray sale. Is it an advertised special or just for random movies? Any links or help would be appreciated guys!!

I just got my Lx 508 Plasma delivered and set up today and guess what?....I can also hear a buzzing sound when the unit is switched on.... it's bloody loud! I can hear it over my 5.1 sound when listening at decent level of volume. For paying 5+ grand for the screen I would have expected it to be a bit quieter, especially since Pioneer are ranked as the premium screen for plasmas. Sounds like it's coming from the 2 x cooling fans on back of case...had a listen and I think it is the fans....but not sure. Will give it a couple of days but it's already driving me crazy due the high pitch. I have changed the settings under Power but to no avail...it's still there loud and strong!
