HRT Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 Browsing the internet last nite came across this Densen DeMagic CD.Does this work as the web site says it does.Just google Desen DeMagic.
Kiat Posted April 6, 2008 Posted April 6, 2008 HRT There are already several items similar to this on the market. Some I know are XLO set up and Burn in CD, Isotek burn in CD and others that I cannot remember the names. I like the XLO one as it help you to set up your stereo system. They claim it help to demagnetize parts of your stereo and I believe it does so. From my experience, it seems to make our speakers sound better after this process. What they say is that a voice coil will develop some magnetic signatures after a period of use and that is possible as the audio signals are inducing the coil to have a certainly momentary magnetic field to repel it from the permenant field of the magnet. I suppose you can relate it to throwing enough **** around and some are bound to stick. It had often crossed my mind if the improvement in sound could be due to listening to 2o minutes of variable pink noise that is bound to drive you crazy and anything after that torture will definitely sound better. Ray H Posted April 17, 2008 Posted April 17, 2008 I have the Densen DEMAG Disk, pitty your not in NSW so I could just loan it to you. They say the first time you use it in a given system has the biggest effect. I think if you sit there and listen to it like Kiat suggests you notice a change. Somewhat like relief as it does sound pretty annoying. I use it in my system every now and again. Its kind of hard to be definitive about the effect. If anybody in Sydney wants to try it im happy to loan it out. Ray. seano Posted April 30, 2008 Posted April 30, 2008 I thought they just took the magic out of the CD......where's the fun in that?
Tax Posted May 8, 2008 Posted May 8, 2008 I got given one for free.. My findings in two different systems were that it did make a subtle difference. I liked what it did to one system but not the other.
edigio Posted May 8, 2008 Posted May 8, 2008 I have the Densen DeMagic cd. I don't know how it works, Densen says it cleans from magnetic fields, and it seems strange to me. But it works, improvements are small, but mostly in micro dynamics you can feel it. So, why don't try it?

But it works, improvements are small, but mostly in micro dynamics you can feel it. So, why don't try it? Why enrich charlatans? A friend was conned into buying one of these disks. He claimed that it made a difference. I tried it. It did not. The claimed explanation is bogus. However, I decided to take the claim even further. I visited another mate, who owns a very good system, has excellent hearing, attends lots of live concerts and has actually heard small changes to his system in previous tests. Unbeknownst to him, I ran the disk in his system. After a couple of hours of listening, I asked if he could hear any difference. He could not. The CD does not, nor can it, work. It is bogus.
Leon Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 I don't know much about this disc but if it does what it claims to do, that is demagnetise a system, perhaps the systems where there was no result were not magnetised? So if the person thinks it made an improvement, that is okay as they are happy; hearing is all in the mind anyway!
HRT Posted May 12, 2008 Author Posted May 12, 2008 Well after 2 weeks of tring the Densen Cd there does seam to a difference. My Krix {Lyrixs} do sound better.Or maybe its just me getting older and deaf. But then everybody has there own opinion about this product.
chu Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 I've got this disk, free from a dealer when I bought some speaker stands from him. I've tried it every now and then on my system and found that it made some subtle difference. For the last week or so I've been burning in a new DIY digital interconnect which provides great details with a some harshness (digital?) with pop music. Last night I tried the Densen disc again without thinking much about any improvement it may make. I was stunned: all the harshness was gone (together with some details, unfortunately). I don't know why? Perhaps it accelerated the digital cable burning in process? Or perhaps it rectified some other faults in my system? I just know that to my ears the Densen disc does work, at least for my system. chu
New Sensations Posted June 8, 2011 Posted June 8, 2011 I've had one of these for a few years now. It makes such a godawful noise that pretty much anything played afterwards will sound good! I've often thought there might be an improvement........but then again.......oh, I dunno.

I pressed the play button on my remote before closing the door . chu
