Electrical Disclaimer Description
This amp (manufactured 2011) was working flawlessly when I managed to short the Left output stage with a speaker wire touch. Long story short, its at a warranty acceredited shop with all caps confirmed good, unit in good condition barring the short. Because of delays in diagnostics, I ended up buying a new amp and now this one is surplus.
And so there's a bit of a choose your own adventure for the right person;
Have the unit as is, for parts or do your own repair.
Via the shop it's at:
- complete replacement of L & R output stages with matching MF parts (approx $3200).
- rebuild of just the shorted channel with equivalent parts (approx $1800).
The benefit here is that it's already at the shop, diagnostics done (will provide quotes and correspondence). It'd just be ok-ing the repair and then picking it up when done.
Seems like a run around but I figured there might be someone that wants a 850w into 4 ohm on a refreshed amplifier for <25% of retail price. Happy to liase to make sure you're comfortable etc.
If i can't re-home , I'm still considering fixing and keeping myself. It's a great sounding amp just very big to keep as a surplus so would rather it went to someone that loved it.
Terrible pic as it's currently at the shop!
