·    Lenehan ML2 Anniversary standmount speakers

·    Includes Lenehan 3HZ IsoForm Stands

·    Manufactured to order by Mike Lenehan for me AUG 2021 (covered and stored since OCT 2025)

·    Pet, Child and Smoke Free environment

I discovered one very small mark in the paint finish on the rear of one cabinet when photographing the speakers for this ad. I am the only person to have handled them after picking them up from Mike, they have never been bumped or knocked.

Lenehan stand mount speakers truly deliver the mystical ‘disappearing act’ when set up well. They respond particularly well with sufficient quality power, which does not necessarily mean huge wattage but they do like a bit of grunt. I ran these with both a 20watt p/side Class A integrated and later a pair of 60watt Class A mono blocks, they were terrific with both.

They deliver tight controlled bass that stand mounts of this size really have no right to. They are quite neutral (uncoloured), very musical speakers and if I were to pick one thing that I feel they really excel at it is natural life like vocals with great imaging and a large soundstage.

While shipping is theoretically possible I have listed as “Shipping Not Available” because the speakers and stands are all very heavy (65kgs per side) and I did not ask Mike for packaging when I collected them from the factory. I am on the northside of Brisbane and will deliver anywhere between Ballina, Sunshine Coast and Toowoomba.

Audition is also possible, encouraged if you’ve not heard ML2’s, for bonafide buyers.

From the manufacturers website ...

“Construction is hand built and meticulous in every sense of the word. The composite enclosure panels are first hand built piece by piece starting with the 36mm HDF 4mm steel plate composite baffle. After all composite panels are individually constructed the enclosure is assembled using probably the worlds strongest epoxy adhesive.

Steel rod, 25mm hardwood dowel and Birch Ply differential bracing are incorporated to produce an enclosure with phenomenally low energy storage.

A single ML2 enclosure takes 6 hours of hand sanding before being painted. The finished Loudspeaker looks like it has been machined from a solid billet.

In rooms of smaller to average size, ie 50cubic mtrs 1700CuFt to 120cubic mtrs an ML2 will produce authoritive bass down to 35hz and produce resolution smoothness and speed akin to the very best full range electrostatic transducers.”

User reviews and community discussions praise the Lenehan Audio ML2 Anniversary Standmount Loudspeakers for their exceptional neutrality, bass extension, and musicality, often describing them as among the most accurate and involving standmounts available, though some note a lack of "jump factor" compared to more colored alternatives.

### Sound Quality
- Neutrality and tonal accuracy: Reviewers highlight an incredibly flat frequency response (flat to 30Hz in-room, with output into the 20s Hz), smooth crossover region, and balanced off-axis response, making them "as neutral as it gets" and tonally accurate across a wide listening window without brightness, peakiness, or excess analysis.
- Bass performance: Stand out for "unbelievable" extension and control from 5"-6.5" drivers in a bass reflex design that measures like a sealed box (gentle roll-off, no peak or boom), delivering clean upper bass/lower midrange free of cabinet resonance—described as the most extended and controlled for their size.
- Treble and midrange: Open, detailed, and fast without harshness; exceptionally clean due to resonance-free cabinets, revealing details often masked in other speakers.
- Dynamics and imaging: Excellent dynamic range, transient response, PRaT (pace, rhythm, timing), and high-energy reproduction that "makes music come alive"; strong imaging, though one reviewer found ML2s (and ML1s) lacking in projecting the stereo image outward or "jump factor" for full enjoyment.
- Musicality and scale: Highly involving and musical, with "blistering dynamics," powerful volume handling disproportionate to size, and a sense of scale that competes with larger speakers; critical of poor recordings but excels with quality sources.

### Build Quality
- Exceptionally inert cabinets with internal sprung steel (upgraded to copper plate in some variants like ML2 Limited/Reference), automotive paint finishes (e.g., burnt orange), and Duelund components in crossovers; minimal vibration even at loud volumes, passing knuckle-rap tests easily.
- High power handling and robust design for standmounts, paired well with high-current amps.

### Reliability
- Few direct mentions, but users note high power handling, stability concerns only with experimental resonance platforms (not inherent to speakers), and durable, resonance-free construction implying long-term solidity; no widespread complaints of failures.

### Strengths
- Unmatched bass for size, neutrality, clarity, and musical engagement without colorations.
- Cabinet inertness eliminating resonances for pure sound.
- Value as an "extraordinary achievement" for size/price, with big sound and dynamics.

### Weaknesses
- May sound "thin," laid-back, or lacking presence/"jump factor" to those preferring colored speakers (e.g., ProAc), due to their accuracy revealing recording flaws.
- Bass perceived as tight but potentially less impactful by some; binding posts spaced closely.

### Overall Reputation
Communities view the ML2 Anniversary (and Reference/Limited variants) as elite high-end standmounts for no-compromise systems, setting benchmarks for accuracy, bass, and involvement—often "way bigger sounding than any standmount has a right to be," with strong enthusiasm despite niche appeal for neutral tastes.

The fair AUD market price for Lenehan Audio ML2 Anniversary Standmount Loudspeakers is approximately $6,000–$7,000 for a used pair including stands, based on recent Australian listings. This estimate reflects sold and offered prices for comparable high-end ML2 variants (e.g., Reference, Limited Edition, Anniversary), which share similar construction and upgrades like sprung steel cabinets and premium crossovers.

### Typical Price Range by Condition
- New/Retail: $12,500 for Anniversary models with stands (RRP); Limited Edition configurations exceeded $20,000 with stands and cables.
- Used (Very Good to Excellent condition): $4,500–$6,500, often including stands and accessories. Examples include a sold Reference pair with stands at $4,950, a clearance Anniversary pair at $6,450, and a Limited Edition (Very Good) offered around this range (RRP context $20K+). General ML2 Reference market is ~$3,000–$5,000 without stands.

Prices vary significantly by condition: pristine or low-hour used units command premiums near $6,500, while standard used fetch $4,500–$5,500.

### Key Factors Affecting Value
- Condition and Upgrades: Very Good+ with original packaging, Duelund capacitors, or external crossovers increases value; cosmetic wear or missing accessories lowers it.
- Inclusion of Stands/Cables: Purpose-built Lenehan stands (spring suspension preferred) and FoilFlex cables add $1,000–$2,000, as most listings bundle them.
- Model Variant: Anniversary/Limited/Reference (premium builds) > standard ML2; retail tiers range $4,500–$5,500 base.
- Location and Demand: Australian sales (e.g., QLD, Canberra) favor local pickup due to 25kg/speaker weight; low supply of these hand-built units drives prices.
- Market Trends: Data from 2023–2026 shows used prices at 40–50% of RRP, with no recent solds above $6,500 indicating conservative secondary market.

Limited active listings suggest prices could fluctuate with new stock or economic factors; check current classifieds for real-time validation.

Absolute bargain for one of the greatest speakers to ever come out of Australia

Thanks @Vin rouge , I’m really surprised they haven’t sold - the price is now $1000 less than I originally listed them at. Maybe fuel prices, cost of living or global instability have rocked people’s confidence 🤷‍♂️

I could not agree more, particularly with the "cost of living or global instability" bit.

Great speakers,

I’m sure they would have been snapped up if shipping was an option

Thanks @Mord , if they don’t go at this price I will contact the new owners at Lenehan Brothers to see if I can acquire packaging to make shipping an option.

I’m the proud owner of a pair exactly the same and no brand new speaker - at this price point - will ever come close to them in terms of performance. Whoever snags these will be a lucky buyer indeed!

Totally Agree I've heard these and can say they possibly are the only Aust Standmount speakers that can be ranked amongst the finest produced World wide--and I've heard and owned a few contenders out there.

The Lenehan name exists to the forefront of the local Mfg scene for the reason of the supreme quality, product and service they provide-buy with absolute confidence.

At the asking price --it is not a bargain-more of a downright give away!

The suggestion to the seller to investigate Aust wide Shipping and packaging-- certainly this can be found with some due diligence would I'm sure be a no brainer to a prompt sale.
