The Cambridge Audio Maharishi Collection

Cambridge Audio and Maharishi, designers of environmentally conscious, durable, utilitarian clothing, announce their first collaborative capsule.

The Cambridge x Maharishi collaboration is "a meeting of precise British engineering, considered design and a love for music," so reads the press release.

The new stylish crossover brings together Maharishi's roots in UK design and music culture with Cambridge Audio's more than five decades of audio expertise.

This new collection features the Melomania A100 true wireless earphones and the Alva ST turntable, which are said to have been selected for their accessibility, premium performance, and versatility, while also representing two distinct listening experiences.

Alva ST is built for the home, offering high-fidelity vinyl playback with built-in Bluetooth aptX HD and phono stage, an advanced tonearm with detachable headshell, and a vibration-resistant belt-drive chassis. A timeless turntable designed for modern living spaces, it delivers warmth, depth, and clarity.

In contrast, Melomania A100 offers hi-fi-grade audio in a compact, wireless form. A100 deliver a pocket-sized amplifier with LDAC and aptX Lossless support, class AB amplification, up to 39 hours of total battery life, adaptive noise cancelling, and ultra-low latency. Tuned at Cambridge's own London venue, Melomania, A100 is built for daily movement and listening on the go.

Both products in this special collection are elevated by Maharishi's signature visual language, fusing high-visibility elements with a classic olive colourway, inspired by their traditional camouflage patterns, reflecting a pacifist reinterpretation of military aesthetics.

Nick Udall, Head of Marketing and Brand Partnerships at Cambridge, told StereoNET:

I've been a long-time admirer of Maharishi. They have been intrinsic to the music I listen to, and I aspired to be a customer for many years. Being able to bring together our brands has been really organic – both parties had a desire to explore each other's customer bases, and so everything fell into place from the first meeting. The hardest part was picking the right products, as we wanted to build a long-term partnership, and the first capsule is a taste of things to come.

The campaign was shot in London and was brought to life by legendary Soul II Soul frontman Jazzie B (above) and Maharishi founder Hardy Blechman (below).

Hardy Blechman, Founder of Maharishi, adds:

Cambridge has always represented purity and honesty in sound. There's a deep respect for music in what they do – and how they do it. This collaboration allowed us to explore the crossover between high-fidelity sound and design-led expression. It felt natural from the start.

We're told that this collaboration marks the beginning of an ongoing partnership between two brands that share a love of music, culture, and craftsmanship.

Cambridge Maharishi Melomania A100 is available now, priced at £139, and Alva ST will be available later in 2025, priced at £649.

applause awards

Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.

Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.

The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.

We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
