Qobuz Connect Comes to BluOS

BluOS devices will soon get Qobuz Connect music streaming support.
Owners of hi-fi components sporting the BluOS multi-room management platform with a Qobuz subscription will soon benefit from Qobuz Connect support thanks to a firmware update later this month.

This will undoubtedly be a bonus across a multitude of products and brands. Naturally, this means compatible Bluesound streaming devices, but also the likes of the new 40 Series from Cyrus and NAD M66 or Roksan Caspian 4G through to compatible products from PSB Speakers, Monitor Audio and DALI.
Qobuz Connect enables you to stream high-resolution audio up to 24-bit/192kHz from your Qobuz app, as well as browse and control music directly from the app on your mobile device. That said, your speaker and volume controls are still navigated using the BluOS app.

Axel Destagnol, Chief Product Officer at Qobuz, told StereoNET:
Qobuz Connect is a feature our listeners have eagerly awaited, and we’re proud to now bring it to the BluOS ecosystem. This update solidifies our position as one of the most complete Connect solutions on the market — combining high resolution, app synchronisation, and remote control in a seamless experience. Our priority has been to develop a simple interface that enhances the listening experience for all our users, and this partnership with BluOS helps us achieve exactly that.

Andrew Haines, BluOS Product Manager, adds:
Qobuz Connect brings a new level of convenience to high-resolution streaming, letting BluOS customers control playback from the Qobuz app for the very first time. Combined with BluOS’s reliable multi-room performance, this integration makes it easier than ever to enjoy high-resolution audio through a connected system.

It already feels like Qobuz Connect has been with us for years, but it actually only landed in May this year. It is great to see it find integration with BluOS as well as the likes of Arcam, Ruark, and, via the HEOS platform, Denon and Marantz.
If you haven't yet subscribed to the excellent Qobuz, readers based in Australia can take advantage of a special 60-day free Qobuz trial through StereoNET.

applause awards
Each time StereoNET reviews a product, it is considered for an Applause Award. Winning one marks it out as a design of great quality and distinction – a special product in its class, on the grounds of either performance, value for money, or usually both.
Applause Awards are personally issued by StereoNET’s global Editor-in-Chief, David Price – who has over three decades of experience reviewing hi-fi products at the highest level – after consulting with our senior editorial team. They are not automatically given with all reviews, nor can manufacturers purchase them.
The StereoNET editorial team includes some of the world’s most experienced and respected hi-fi journalists with a vast wealth of knowledge. Some have edited popular English language hi-fi magazines, and others have been senior contributors to famous audio journals stretching back to the late 1970s. And we also employ professional IT and home theatre specialists who work at the cutting edge of today’s technology.
We believe that no other online hi-fi and home cinema resource offers such expert knowledge, so when StereoNET gives an Applause Award, it is a trustworthy hallmark of quality. Receiving such an award is the prerequisite to becoming eligible for our annual Product of the Year awards, awarded only to the finest designs in their respective categories. Buyers of hi-fi, home cinema, and headphones can be sure that a StereoNET Applause Award winner is worthy of your most serious attention.
