You’re happy with your Marshall Bluetooth speakers, but would like to add a turntable to the party. Perhaps, some further wireless integration would be good to. Marshall’s new Heddon hub might be just the thing for you, then.

The diminutive device measures just 120.5 x 120.5 x 42 mm (4.75 x 4.75 x 1.65 in) and adds Wi-Fi and multi-room streaming to select Marshall Bluetooth speakers, so you don't have to replace them.

Marshall's Heddon is compatible with the Marshall Acton III, Stanmore III, and Woburn III Bluetooth speakers. The Heddon hub streams music via Wi-Fi or wired Ethernet from Spotify Connect, Tidal, AirPlay, and Google Cast. It then broadcasts via Auracast to the speakers, creating a multi-room system if you have multiple Marshall (or other Auracast-compatible) devices.

This means that your once Bluetooth-only Marshalls become full-on streaming speakers, you can control playback across your speakers with the Marshall app.

Furthermore, you can plug a record player directly into Heddon's RCA stereo line inputs and stream vinyl records wirelessly around your home to your Marshall speakers. That said, the Heddon hub doesn’t have a phono stage, so be sure your turntable has one built in or that you have a phono pre-amp for it.

As Marshall puts it, the Heddon presents a “unified listening experience and lets vinyl take centre stage.” Gustaf Living Rosell, Chief Product & Innovation Officer at Marshall, adds:
We see Heddon as a living platform. Through future software updates and close collaboration with our community, we’ll continue to expand its possibilities with more features and by introducing additional product categories, while staying true to the way people actually listen to music at home.

To that end, Heddon also works with selected older-gen Acton, Stanmore, and Woburn speakers, along with Kilburn, Stockwell, Tufton, Acton Voice, and Stanmore Voice models via a wired connection to the RCA line outputs on the little device, handing the old-timers new-fangled streaming skills. This will then also enable the first- or second-gen models to sync with the third-generation-compatible trio.

The Marshall Heddon streaming hub is available now for £180 | US$300 | €199. There’s a half-price discount on Heddon when purchased with the Acton III, Stanmore III, or Woburn III speaker, or get it free when buying two or more eligible Marshall home speakers.
