Goldmund has another high-end amplifier to offer, the Telos 4800 mono power, which is almost half the price of the Swiss firm's flagship Telos 8800, lauded as one of the world's most powerful amplifiers.

The Telos 4800 offers a maximum power output of 1050 watts at 8 ohms and boasts ultra-low harmonic distortion of less than 0.005% across 20 Hz to 20 kHz. The manufacturer states that the dynamic range, measured at 117 dB with a 22 kHz bandwidth, "ensures that every subtle nuance of the audio is rendered with exquisite accuracy."

So, it has the specs as well as the StereoLUX price tag. It also has Goldmund's renowned quality and typically Swiss attention to detail.
Under the hood, you will find Goldmund's proprietary MKP silver-metallised polypropylene film cap capacitors and a massive copper ground plane. This, we are told, ensures a supremely stable supply for the Mosfet output stage, guaranteeing optimal stability even for demanding loads.

The brand claims the Telos 4800 can drive even extremely low-impedance speakers without compromising distortion levels. The new monoblock's gain is adjustable in 3dB increments, allowing you to make more precise adjustments and ensuring synergy throughout your system.

You also get a decent array of physical connection options, including analogue RCA unbalanced, XLR balanced and digital RCA inputs alongside a digital RCA output, twin output binding posts and a single Goldmund speaker 4B-type connector. Additionally, the RS232 command and jack connectors for triggering enhance the amplifier's integration capabilities, making it ideal for sophisticated home audio installations.

The Telos 4800 is available in grey or black colourways. In both finishes, you'll find a golden inlay manufactured by the same company that makes the embellishments for Rolexes and Patek-Phillipe watches, which is an excellent bragging point. Although, the kind of circles one would move in would, of course, expect nothing less.
The Goldmund Telos 4800 mono power amplifier is available now for £235,000 per unit, so £470,000 for a stereo pair.
