Garmin to Acquire JL Audio

Garmin has announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire JL Audio, renowned for its audio solutions for marine, aftermarket automotive, powersports, home and RV customers.
JL Audio offers premium audio products and accessories, including speakers, amplifiers, subwoofers and other audio components.
Garmin is a strong, technology-driven company with a worldwide footprint. In a press release distributed to its worldwide customers today, JL Audio President, Andy Oxenhorn, explained:
Over the past few years, Lucio Proni, Jeff Scoon, and I have been planning for the future of JL Audio. We wanted to make sure the company was set up to thrive and continue serving our customers in a manner consistent with Lucio's founding vision. This would require finding the right buyer to take JL Audio into the future.

The Garmin management team shares JL Audio's commitment to innovation and engineering, and they focus on delivering unique technology solutions to customers around the world. They understand, appreciate, and want to nurture all the things that have made us a great audio company.
Cliff Pemble, Garmin President and CEO, added:
JL Audio's extensive audio experience will create new opportunities to provide premium audio features across a broad range of our markets and products. The JL Audio brand is known around the world for offering a premium audio experience which is made possible by their talented and dedicated associates. We look forward to welcoming the JL Audio team into the Garmin family.

JL Audio is headquartered in Miramar, Florida and employs more than 600 associates. This acquisition is expected to be completed by the end of 2023 and is subject to customary regulatory approvals and closing conditions. The company says that all existing JL Audio products will continue to be supported post-closing and that customers can expect to continue receiving the same great customer service.
Financial terms of the acquisition will not be disclosed.
