Bristol Hi-Fi Show: Triangle Capella 2 Streaming System UK Debut

Triangle’s new Capella 2 streaming system invites your telly and turntable to the party.
Triangle is bringing its new Capella 2 premium active wireless speaker system to the UK. Made in Triangle’s specialist facility in Soissons, the WiSA-based system is deemed “a worthy successor” to the original offering.

At the heart of the system is the new Stereo Hub 2, a network player and wireless transmitter powered by a 1.5GHz Cortex A53 Quad-Core processor that utilises WiSA technology to provide a completely cable-free connection between the hub and the speakers, with no perceptible latency.
All sources connect to this single external hub, so the speakers themselves require no interconnecting cables. This elegant solution provides complete freedom of placement - the Capella 2 can be positioned wherever sounds and looks best, without compromise.
The Capella 2 supports virtually every source a modern listener is likely to use. Wireless streaming is available via Bluetooth 5.2 and Wi-Fi, with high-resolution audio up to 24-bit/192kHz from smartphones, tablets or computers. The system is fully compatible with AirPlay 2, Chromecast, Spotify Connect Lossless, Tidal Connect, Roon Ready and UPnP/DLNA for NAS or computer-based music libraries.

For wired sources, the Stereo Hub 2 includes HDMI with eARC and CEC for television; coaxial and three optical S/PDIF digital inputs; USB-B for computer audio; RCA stereo and 3.5mm analogue inputs; and a dedicated subwoofer output tunable via the Triangle Capella app.
The Capella 2 includes an automatic room calibration system via iOS devices or the optional Zen calibration microphone. For those who prefer a more hands-on approach, a full manual equaliser is also available in the Triangle Capella app for both iOS and Android.
Each Capella 2 speaker delivers 100W of Class D bi-amplification and a claimed 42Hz–22kHz (±3dB) bandwidth, with a dedicated amplifier and digital converter for each driver. A DSP continuously optimises driver performance while protecting the components from overload - an arrangement that yields genuinely outstanding dynamics for a speaker of this size.
The 165mm (6.5-inch) mid-woofer uses a proprietary natural cellulose pulp membrane – long a Triangle hallmark this unique design is prized for its neutral, colourless reproduction and its particularly natural vocal delivery. The driver sits on a ventilated aluminium chassis with a half-roller suspension, promising open, dynamic bass without compromising midrange clarity.
The TZ2530MG horn tweeter, another signature Triangle design, uses a new 25mm magnesium/aluminium alloy dome. It projects sound evenly, producing smooth, extended highs that are entirely free of harshness or fatigue.
A downward-firing bass-reflex port provides uniform low-frequency dispersion without affecting vocal clarity. The curved cabinet, combined with a structured silicone trim, reduces sound wave diffraction, while Triangle's proprietary DVAS (Driver Vibration Absorption System) internal bracing minimises resonances that would otherwise colour the sound.
Lunar 3 Turntable
Made in collaboration with Pro-Ject, the Lunar 3 features a straight tonearm made from a single piece of carbon fibre. The turntable comes ready to play with a built-in moving-magnet (MM) phono preamp, Ortofon 2M Red MM cartridge and an RCA phono cable to connect to the Capella 2 wireless stereo hub. A speed selection switch sits neatly under the left front panel, allowing you to play at 33, 45 or 78rpm.

Capella 2 is making its UK debut at the Bristol Hi-Fi Show, with the Triangle Capella 2 (pair of active speakers + Stereo Hub 2 + accessories) priced at £2,299, available in English Green, Astral Blue, Space White, Space Black, and Oak.
Triangle S05 compatible speaker stands: £279 per pair - available in matching colours.
Triangle Lunar 3 turntable - £699 - available in English Green, Astral Blue, Space White, Space Black
