Even newer friends........

Well after a long days work, I came home last night with great anticipation as my new 16 ohm 107dB Duo Omega upgrade kit had arrived:party

So after a quick dinner..the fun began

As you can see it was all happening with horns, drivers, nuts and bolts every where.

and so it went on into the night

Got most of the install done except the last tweeter install which I did this morning...hooray..glad that's over.

Here are the 8 Ohm 104dB parts that came off including the crossovers

Now the new Omega drivers are getting a burn in..looking forward to some quality time tonight:love

Yes, they do. I was resisting the upgrade for the last two years but after going to the AVG Factory I finally caved in and spent the money.

I have been listening non stop for the last 3 hours. One of the happier days in my life pretty well sums it up. I haven't even played a LP yet. Just feeding it through Kimura San's 47 Lab front end.

So far better integration, more bass in the midrange and extension in the tweeter.

If I am not mistaken, these and the old drivers are specially made by a French company to Avantgarde's specifications.

Can put you up for a couple of nights. Have ample room and Visitors bedroom is usually free most of the year.

108dB 16 Ohms. Amps are the Audio Note Conquest Silver Signatures modded with AN-Vz cable and 2 W AN Tantulums and Black Gates with V-CAP TFTF as couplers. Pre is a heavily tricked out M3 badged M5 with C-Core OPT's Sogon cabling, Tantulums, Blackgates, V-Cap TFT as couplers.

Just sold my Jadis and added a new friend to the mix...

I have Jack coming over for a listen at lunch time today.....

Had 2 hours of fun trying to reposition speakers last night.

More tomorrow morning when another SNA member comes over to give me a second opinion.

I know, I know! I have been thinking of theSolos ever since you first put up the FS thread.

Unfortunately I would have to give up either the wife or the bike and after having ridden both recently , they still give me the thrills so..um the Solos may have to wait a bit longer

Mrs already thinks I have too many hobbies.. let alone a new Camera.. Funny thing technology...Bought my Pentax in Europe while on a holiday 4 years ago. Paid about 500 Euro and it takes a crappy photo. Bought my daughter a $100 dollar Samsung at Harvey Norman and it takes a better photo..weep

With regards to coming over, I am just breaking in the new drivers and crossover caps, so why don't you call or PM me in a couple of weeks and come over?
