Lovely Setup Darren!, The Parasounds look really nice, My self own the little A23 and it's a dam fine amplifier for the price. Focals look amazing to!.

Thanks Kris, I had an A21 to start with, yes the stereo amps are gorgeous and could be all you ever need, the JC1's have a similar sound obviously.

Just more of it in every respect. :)

I bought the A23 for movies to give my fronts a little bit more power, but I have placed a deposit down on the Musical fidelity M6 pre/pwr and hoping to get them early next year as getting into my music more, I got a very nice deal on the M6 Combo. So the little A23 is up for sale now.

I do love those 1038 Speakers, I got the 826v Focals and they sound pretty good for the money.

Yes they are very good, the 826V.

Len Wallis have some 1027 Be's for 6.5 if you wanted the Berylium tweeter, if I did it again I only would have got the 1028 Be and the subs that I ended up with from Ascension in Adelaide. IMO the 1038 doesn't give you much extra bass at all. Not bagging them, justs aying I wouldn't expect massive oomph from the 6x 180mm woofers.

The Focals strengths are awesome mids and highs and can throw a big image if the recording is good. They need help for bass and the Focal 1000SW's are ridiculously expensive.

But I am a bit of a bass head.

I did notice Len Wallis has a pair going for 6.5k with matching centre channel. I bought my 826v at Len Wallis and am getting my pre/pwr from there to.

The 1038 look huge over the 1028 be, I could afford a brand new pair of 1028be next year, am doing my pre/pwr M6 upgrade with a new CD player first. And we all love bass

@@sacd87 looking forward to your thoughts as your stuff progresses. :)

Congrats on the MF/Focal rig, look out Al (Betty Boop) doesn't come around staring through your windows. :D

He has MEGA MF gear.

Thanks Darren, I did notice Betty Boop is a huge MF fan haha. And the cd player would be the matching M6cd player aswell.

And again awesome setup darren!!.

@@sacd87 it's taken me a bit over 2.5 years of research and putting off a lot of other things to be able to afford things when they came up. I have tried a lot of stuff along the way and learnt a tonne of stuff I didn't know before so it's been great.

I would say the classifieds allowed me to get to this point maybe 5 years quicker than if I had've bought new.

Osome system Darren

Congrats Darren, looking very impressive, would love to hear it one day.

Cheers,

steve

Yeh, I'm in the same boat, no more spending........

Although those magico's in the classifieds would be nice! :-)

More than welcome at Che Daz Stevo. Don't own much Audiophile grade stuff but I do have a lot of good music. :D

@@johnnygohard if you have suddenly found a massive trunk full of old looking money mate, I would take it to the cops. You might start getting funny looking cars parking across the road at all hours.

Audiophool..... schmool..., your system should and would sound sublime I think... you have done a lot of very insightful purchasing, based on a lot of research.

I tips my lid again... well done mate.

I'll ride it through mate! Counterfeiting is my speciality!

As long as I can at least spend some time with BHK before I go to the clink :-)

Welllllllllllllllllllllllllllll.....................

I have a Meridian 808.3i CDP/Pre heading my way.

We'll see how it goes against the three amigo's being DEQX HDP4/PS Audio Perfectwave CDT & separate Dac.

So there.

I also trust you are all enjoying my very Christmassy Iron Maiden Sali Navideath avatar.

Have realised 'off the merry go round' is latin for 'don't look at the classifieds anymore'.

Now I wonder how it would all sound through some Valhalla's to ML2's with the existing Ascension twin 12in subs helping.

Very nice system Darren!

Out of what I have decided to keep, I would say the best buy's have been the monos. After repairs and servicing by Zaph the master, under $4k?? Premium big power amps. Am still grinning about that.

Am I reading that right? 4K for JC1's?
