Hi, I’m trying to sell some amp stands but every time I take a photo they are too large to upload. Can anyone here help me make them smaller IMG_7887.jpegplease?

Only issue I have with this is the maximum file size of 10MB.

I use Arcsoft 5.5, which came free with my camera, and it lovely and easy to use. But it's very old an newer versions don't work or don't work as well. But I use it on my desktop (yes, I still have one).

@Cloth Ears you can also temporarily adjust your phone camera or phone app "quality" settings to output smaller size images; medium quality on whatsapp outputs to approx. 400kb

Yep - but I mainly use my Canon for photography and then download it for post processing. I can adjust the size in the camera, but I prefer using full-size files until I'm happy with the result and only then do I reduce the size. If necessary. For large prints on canvas, I generally prefer to keep them at full-size and my printer accepts them (which is all to the good).

You could move back from the item you are photographing a bit, take a wider pic and then crop it. As long as the lighting is good your cropped photo should still be decent quality and a smaller sized file.

i have just gone to doing a screenshot of my photo as a simple solution

A bit long way to do it, but

Take pic with I Phone.

Select photo (photo's)

Click on Mail icon

Email to self

Hit send

Option comes up to reduce size by selecting from dropdown

Select Large 843KB as opposed to 2.5MB, works each time

Save on your PC and post to SNA from PC

great to see the community coming together to provide some workarounds but, fundamentally, i think the root cause has generally been overlooked...viz, it is clearly the endless succession of outrageously outsized droolworthy larger than life gear that @Yamaha_man is blessed with.. QED...no wonder the photos are LARGE! Whereas more 'sensible' modest lifestyle all-in-one WAF/PAF friendly gear would conversely, by logical extension, have much more conveniently smaller native photo file sizes negating the need for any manipulation to facilitate said uploads.

Use the free image editing software GIMP. Then you could have rotated that image of your system, so it wasn't on the p1ss. It's a bit full on for just resizing though, but depending what OS you are using, there are quite a few different image viewers that will do the same thing, resize (scale), crop, rotate etc.

Just trying to understand this correctly. You were able to upload them to the forums, but not able to upload them to the Classifieds (because they were too big)?

True, something I found odd.

Try this software has been very useful for me when having to send pictures when you are limited by size .
