Malware & Content Filtering Done Easy

Featured Replies

I have helped a few people on here recently with a simple to deploy malware and web content filter to remove malicious websites and remove adult content from your DHCP connected devices.

Cloudflare has offered for free a service called 1.1.1.1 that uses DNS server settings to filter traffic your local users can access on your home network.

Malware Blocking Only

Change your router DNS settings to:

  • 1.1.1.2
  • 1.0.0.2

Malware and Adult Content Blocking Together

Change your router DNS settings to:

  • 1.1.1.3
  • 1.0.0.3

Instructions on how to do it: https://developers.cloudflare.com/1.1.1.1/setup/

It is well worth checking out as it is a simple to deploy setting that makes your browsing safer and helps protect the youngsters from themselves.

Excellent advice here folks.  Very simple to implement on your router and goes a long way to filter out content esp for a family with young kids.  Thanks @BugPowderDust

@BugPowderDust Thanks for posting this. It caused me to have a bit of a look around, because I had also heard of Quad9 DNS as well. I found this video on DNS filtering comparing Cloudflare, Quad9 and a couple of others.

Might be worth doing a bit more research, but I'm going to test Quad9 on my router tonight. Way too hard setting up all devices individually.
