New Kitchen TV Setup

Featured Replies

My darling wife is a dab hand, when it comes to cooking, and spends a fair amount of time in the Kitchen.  I think she has more cookbooks than 'Readings Book Store' in Melbourne.

For years I have had a Kogan 24" tv hanging on a swivel off the kitchen wall, which is always on when she is working away.

It is No Smart TV, and the audio has always been so, so.    I was looking at it the other night, and the image from the roof aerial was pixelating on Ch 10.    Mmmmmm not good enough in this day and age.      I had researched 24-27" TV's and most got fairly average reviews for anything under $350.    So, I came up with a cunning plan.

I caught up with a mate for coffee this morning then snuck off to JB HiFi and then Centrecom.     Centrecom has their EOFY sales so a good time to browse.

Refurbished Fetch Box (Mighty) Wifi and Bluetooth  $129 - JB HiFi

Samsung LS27C33 PC Monitor.   27", 1080p, 100hz, IPS, HDMI, No inbuilt Audio  - $138 - Centrecom

Edifier G2000 Bluetooth Speakers.  -  $89 - Centrecom.

Total $356.

Works an absolute treat.    The Fetch provides all the streaming apps (Accounts required) and Digital TV channels via WiFi.

G2000 speakers are Bluetoothed to the Fetch and sound amazing, for the size.     Lovely 1080p images from Prime Video.

Big browny points, so well worth a few hour's of effort.👌🍷

May I suggest your wife visit Tim and Amanda at Books for Cooks? She will think she has died and gone to heaven there.

I think she has an account there. 😱

I had to make a little timber shelf to hold the hardware.    So happy with the video and the audio.
