Fallout 1,2,3 and 4

Who's gone retro and replayed these after watching the series on Prime?

I've jumped on GoG and bought Fallout 2, which IMO had the best storyline across the series.  Definitely a trip back memory lane.

I am just starting to watch the TV series, and haven't played any Fallout game before.  Is Fallout 2 the best one to start with?

Tempted to get Fallout 4 after watching the series, I'm a sucker for better visuals so not too keen on older, maybe 3 would be OK.

But if most is crafting and stuff and little combat I'm not sure.

Edit: Looking at gameplay vids I'd have to go 4 if any.

Just purchased Fallout 4 GOTY edition for Steam via a reseller for $12.08, which is quite a bit cheaper than its selling on Steam directly.  Installing now...

Probably best to start off with the Original fallout.  There are heaps of third party game updates to the series that include updated graphics and patches long since the game was EOL.

Depends on what you like better...better visuals and updated gameplay, for sure, F4 is the one to go for.

For me Fallout 1 for nostalgia sake, Fallout 2 is my pick of the series.  The follow on's after like Brotherhood of Steel etc are meh, Fallout 3 was Ok and Fallout 4 was pretty decent gameplay and the visuals are quite stunning.

This is Fallout 2, It's a top down RPG game like Diablo ect', not my thing, I like First Person.

Fallout 2 for me, probably followed by falling back into hours of other classic 90's games like Diablo, Command and Conquer, Total Annihilation and Heroes of Might and Magic 2 or 3.

Dangerous slippery slope.

Haha.. i'm playing HOMM3 at the moment...just jumping into a quick campaign.  Still think the Dungeon township has the strongest class of creatures in the game.  Black dragons, Manticores, Minatours, Medusas, Evil eyes... the trogs and harpies are a waste though.

Homm3 HD with Horn of the Abyss?

I tried the Fallout 4 and Skyrim a few times but can not stand the animation of these games. Compare to other RPGs from other titles and companies, Bathesda RPG games have awful animations. This is subjective and I have a few friends who enjoy the series very much. But to me the Elder Scrolls series have awesome music. Some of the collection OSTs are in my music library.
