Further Information

Rather fabulous, Tom Evans Audio Design, (TEAD) phono stage, preamp and power amp' for sale!

Just add Vinyl front end, speakers and cables!

I'm selling because I now have a latest TEAD Mastergroove SR111 phono stage on order. I'm also looking at buying one of the new TEAD

Mastervibe preamps and a pair of Linear B power amps'.

For sale as follows:

TEAD. Absolute top-of-the-line Mastergroove SR mark 2, phono stage, with outboard PSU, for cartridges with outputs in the range of around 0.45mV.

I sold this mind-boggling phono stage, new, to a valued client who has since exchanged it for a very latest Mastergroove SR Mark 3 phono stage!

Could be upgraded to latest markl 3, by the buyer, if desired. (expect an 8-9 month turn around, which the client avoided by buying new)

This is the very top-of-the-line of the famous TEAD phono stages. Works great with my 0.05mV!! Audio Note IO Gold, 0.2mV Ikeda Kai,

0.2mV Ortofon SPU GM 11 E and 0.35mV upgraded Denon 103. Cartridge loading and capacitance are user adjustable.

This phono stage is larger than many power amps! plus the separate power supply!

TEAD Vibe 1.7 preamp, (latest version) bought new, by me, from TEAD and since updated by TEAD to very latest spec.

This is the top-of-the-line version which Includes the separate Pulse 2.2 outboard PSU.

TEAD Linear A mark 3, valve/hybrid power amp'. Bought new from TEAD in 2017 as the then mark 11 version. Returned to TEAD

and rebuilt as the latest mark 111 version. Now has enhanced power supplies, output transformers and completely new Input circuitry.

Global FB is adjustable from 0db to 3db, in six steps, via rear control knob.

New TEAD power amps come without any valves! The buyer has to provide their own valves or get them from the TEAD dealer!

I am selling this Linear A with a used-but-test-as-new matched set of Electro-Harmonix EL84s. I'll also Include a near-new matched set

of best-of-the-range, Psvane T11, EL84s (which are Tom Evan's preferred make of EL84).

I am Including three TEAD Aus/NZ mains cables which are an option, at extra cost, from TEAD

Tom Evans audio is super good. I had the pleasure of listening to the mastergroove mk1  many years ago and let me tell you it doesn't get better in terms of sound at any price. If your into turntables this would be end game on the master groove.  Also Linear A or pre is a killer if you have easy driving speakers. But one thing to keep in mind is make sure you have a step up transformer if your voltage is above 240 volts. If you are buying with your eyes they might not look like much but tom Evans is a great engineer in audio with high quality sound. His got a great ear Tom Evans.

Hi, and thanks for your supportive comments.

Please note that, as per one of the above photos, the 'Mastergroove SR 11' is a 240V model anyway.

Tom Evans told me that the 230V Vibe will be fine on 240V since that's well within the max voltage

of the power supply regulators.

Tom Evans thought that the Linear A would Ideally be operated at 230V but my rural supply here in NZ varies between 238V to 245V and I've told him that I've never had a problems.

He said that the only issue was to not exceed the filament supply voltage on the EL84 valves.

The filament voltage is quoted as 6.3V +/- 10% and the filaments on my Linear A only run approx' 2.5% high, on my rural supply, so are well within spec'.

(I trained on Industrial valve gear and have suitable test equipment)

I wouldn't dream of selling the SR 11 but for having an SR 111 nearing completion in Wales!

Best regards Kevin

Yes his master groove phono is super special. If your into turntables it doesn't get better.  Your one lucky guy owning a master groove.
