Bryston 4B SST PRO #C Power Amplifier.

Firstly, I wanted to Thank the kind members of this board who gave me friendly advice and guidance a few months back on how to sell my stable of Brystons.

As per their recommendations, I am posting these individually #A thru #E with the exact photos of each unit identified by their # letter.

If you are looking for the unicorn of a ‘sequential serial number pair’ please see the posts for #B and #C

Please see my original post for full background and description.

 * #C The underside of the CH2 (Negative) Speaker binding post’s outer plastic shroud has a crack in it. This was present when I purchased it. It freely opens and tightly closes exactly as the others and has never affected performance or impedes the type/size of connector you can use. To give context, My phone was about 2mm away from the terminal to take the photo!

If you want to replace it, Contact Bryston Canada and they can supply you with an original replacement. (<$50 AUD - Delivered)

TLDR;

The ‘Pro’ edition of this power amplifier features;

- On the backplane, under the ‘gain’ switch there are variable attenuators (potentiometers) to accurately and finely calibrate your system.

- XLR Inputs are Balanced on the canon connector (Neutrik combo type)

- Front face plate handles can be removed for enclosed rack / residential installs.

The 4B SST is a TRUE dual mono design 2 x 300W per channel audio power amplifier.

It can operate in either ‘Individual’ (Stereo) mode for 300W per channel into 2-Channels at 8Ω or ‘Bridged’ mode to reveal its final form of 900W into 1-Channel at 8Ω.

The 4B SST includes ‘soft start’ power control circuitry to eliminate high inrush currents when A/C power is applied. The power up or turn-on of the 4B SST may be activated by remote control voltage.

Each channel selects a balanced or single ended input and selects a lgain of 29dB(1v) or 23dB(2v).

Their smooth linear power application is effortless and emerges from a pure black background.

They command any type of speaker to perform at their absolute best, with stunning minute detail, authority, air and accurate stage-width reproduction from the lowest of listening volumes up to reference.

Inspections, auditions and tests are welcome, but due to our relocation, you will need to bring along your own multi-meter, small pre-amp, test speakers and preferred source. (I can only offer you a pair of Tannoy P8’s as test speakers, a designated parking garage spot and flat load elevator for your kit)

If you need it shipped, buyer pays packaging, freight and insurance. You can organise this directly with Pack and Send or other designated and mutually agreed freight packaging and forwarding company within a 10km radius of Norwest, NSW 2153. I will enlist help to safely move and deliver it to them on your behalf.

I am open to honest, fair and equitable offers.

Please feel free to ask any questions and I will do my best to assist.

Thank You for your interest.
