I purchased the DAC new from DacMan Audio in early 2021. This Pontus II for sale retains the warm organic sound that the Pontus II was originally renown for. As such, it has not gone through the many, many, published firmware updates and iterations that changed/coloured the sound. Therefore, the Pontus II provides a clean slate for a purchaser to either retain the organic warmth or trial the various firmware that is available to tune the sound to their liking. Note: Early model Pontus II’s with the BGA-DSP board did not have II on the faceplate. This was introduced on the faceplate towards the end of 2021. The Pontus II will ship in the padded box in which it was purchased new. CCRider Posted March 30 Share Posted March 30 (edited) As an owner of the Pontus 11 12-1 I can only speak highly of this R2R dac. Beautiful sounding DAC. Excellent sound stage and imaging. Buttery sound that you can listen to for many hours. A tip to the new owner Always keep it in standby to keep those caps "warm".
