Beautiful floorstanders that run very well with Naim. RRP $6250.

 

Worked great in my listening room until I moved house recently. 

 

Stand tall with surprisingly deep bass extension.

 

There is some small cosmetic scuffing at the rear end of one speaker (see images). This has no effect on sound quality and no structural damage.

 

Price negotiable.

 

There is nothing. in the Neat range, under $6000 that would match these.

 

If I didn't already have Neats I would grab it at this price because they are rarely seen on the second hand market.

Yes, it took a $10,000 bookshelf speaker and $4000 subwoofer to better the Ekstras.

I have the SX3i isobaric stand mounters with very well designed Atacama 400x stands. They are isolated from the stands with some magical Atacama iso pads that work like magic. The stand bases are coupled to a tile floor with spikes that sit on 50mm metal spike bases. It's a great combo and they feel like they are bolted to the floor.

 

This was the most critical thing for the SX3i apart from finding the precise wall distance and listening angle. My LDR passive preamp plays a big part in taming the mid/bass of the Neats because the signal into the amp is pristine because it has only gone through 2 light dependant resistors and has zero colouration.

 

My StereoCoffee DIY LDR Passive preamp integrated with a Hyper NC122MP and Aurealis litz wire based interconnects, now has the audio benefits of ESL's but with full weight detailed bass.

 

You might guess that I am more than happy!

 

I didn't even want to audition Neats at the dealer, who is local, because of the name which reminded me of my DIY efforts. As soon as I heard the first note of demo tracks I knew this was the sound I'd been seeking for 60 years and took out my credit card and handed over $4000.
