@mikizee did you get a chance to quiz the Rega sales rep?

Yep, he had no more info than what has already been shared. He said that with any Rega UK release, add around 3 months for local release as everything is shipped via sea freight.

The only comment he really made was that he was very skeptical that 'Nd7' would be it's final name. But who knows!

What do Rega owners think about the new Nd carts as far as VTA goes? All the opinion a while back was that replacing Rega carts produced VTA issues and involved shims or other VTA solutions.

Rega don't seem to be addressing the eight of the new Nd carts, from what i've read so far.

The Nd5 does look very tempting.

I ordered an Nd5 for the P3 in the showroom, was going to fit it on Friday but had lots of people coming in to listen to the new generation i93s. Hope to fit it and have a listen tomorrow. I'll let you know my thoughts.

I've now spent a bit of time with the Nd5. No issues with VTA as far as I can see.

I was a bit worried as at first, the old Exact had it beat - the Nd5 had better top end but at the expense of a somewhat hollow and congested, unnatural midrange. I was playing a jazz record and my co-worker said, 'it sounds like the horn has a bit of covid'.

Got out the magnifying glass and despite the cart being 3 point mounted, there is a teeny fraction of a mm side-to-side wiggle room. Moved the cart that fraction of a mm and it all came together - now sounding very nice indeed. An improvement over the Exact, just as nice and natural but a tad more open. Gets my thumbs up.

The Rega Nd7 is now available in the UK priced at £450.

Hopefully we'll see them here before to long at somewhere around AU$700-800.

Priced at $999AUD. Puts it in a battle royale with the Ortofon 2M Black.
