SOLD ELSEWHERE: Presonus Eris E5 Active Studio Monitors (Pair)

Featured Replies

Further Information

I bought them with a turntable from a mate several years ago (also will be listed) and never really managed to get going with a vinyl set-up - prefer streaming from PC to smaller monitors on my desk

Have both boxes in average-good condition. Speakers in great condition w/ 2x power cables

Fairly negotiable on price! Can probably drop anywhere in inner north

I have a pair in my home DJ set up (separate to my HiFi system). Good speakers especially for this price. I paired them with a PreSonus Eris Sub8 subwoofer to beef up the bass.

Thanks Niall - yes these appear more orientated to music production - it's probably in all our interests I do not produce music!

Sorry to hijack, but how would these sound listening to music in a home office all day long compared to hifi speakers?

I can't speak to the E5 specifically, but I did have the smaller 4" Eris as desktop speakers for a while and they were great for cheapies. Now running some 5" Behringers with ribbon tweeters, and use them in the same role - music on my WFH desktop.

Monitors have always seemed like a pretty ideal choice for nearfield desktop use to me. Perhaps they're a little lacking in the perceived mid bass oopmh that might come from hifi speakers but I can't say it's an issue for me.

Worth noting that assuming you're gonna use a computer with these, you'll want to use an audio interface for level control, but these are a bargain at the price and you shouldn't have a problem finding a used USB interface.

Cheers Srey - I haven't personally used the E5 much either but as you had good experience with E4 in the past!

Great thank you :)

I have the E5 XTs. To me they sound pretty good although I have a separate HiFi system (Rega 1, Wharfedale Diamond 10.2 speakers, rega IO amp) for when I want to sit and listen rather than just have music on. I have added a Presonus Sub8 subwoofer to flesh out the base which I can also adjust using my DJ Mixer (Allen and Heath Xone 42). I picked them up from Manny's/Store DJ Fitzroy Nth and the guy who sold them to me said he used them for his Hifi and TV as well.
