If one lives in a landed property, yet he hoots a system setup like mine, that priced less than 1.5k with TV included... other visitors will certainly gives an odd look to the owner... "WahLauEhh!!! At least something we knows and recognize lah... not like this baa...? Machiam like asking us come to your posh place to jiak plain porridge with preserved veggie..."

Some of our friends here spend more than $10k for cables alone  ;)

I feel hifi not really a show off hobby... cos not many ppl are not even aware of the value of the hifi equipments.. many high end systems are hidden in dedicated rooms or even when at social areas, many do not showcase or on them for non hifi crazy visitors

 

and with everyone having personal devices, the role of TV has also reduced. I have not bought a TV for over 10 years (I have 1 TV at home, handed down fm someone). I thought I'm the exception but many of my friends and colleagues also don't bother about TVs in recent years..

The poll options are tend to has one ultimate result with no doubt. $10k is the max for hi-END begin? That just might called hi-fi, for hi-end probably you need to add another zero behind.
