Going to stereo . A difficult decision .

:o Shock to hear that. Its like the painting fell from the wall for no good reason! Not only you put so much passion into your dedicated HTS, but you also inspired me to dream big. I got all good poison from you to lead me into hooking up a projector for my HTS  :) Well thanks, its the best thing in my HTS!

Good lesson for everyone to learn. As most of us live in HDB apartment, neighbours factors is very important when deciding to assemble very poweful HT system. Am I correct to say that you give up your passion in HT due to that factor?

Here we go again,

Nice, dinky looking speakers.

Going more for imaging and surround effects rather than thump-your-chest dynamics?

This time only 2 subwoofers n kk speakers.Unforuntely the kk surround cannot fit in to my decor  :P

Now the quest to look for another subwoofer to match with the kk sub.

It's Good to see you back in business ! More treatments done to your front eh :p

Better bass trap n redo the window for unwanted vibration . Actually the new treatment , making  the front area much neater .

Downgrading was never an option for scott i guess :D

As a another chance to try new equipment [/img]

Just the inital impression , the kk speakers is a worthy replacement for my previous jtr spk , although it may not go as loud as the jtr .

Bro, suggest you consult a sound proofing person just in case.

Bass traps prevent boom but sound will still leak out.

Sealing the window is a good idea but presumably it is the transmitted sound rather than leak thru window. Solids conduct sound far better than air.

If its an above neighbor try dense vinyl matt - the mass will help to attenuate all high and low freq (can mix Rockwool and plaster board layers because cheaper) for example.

Actually did the treatment with the support of Peng & Nicholas .

Has Peng had a haircut?

Hmm.. Wondering which apartment neighbours would be more affected by bass; is it the downstair or upstair?  ???

Haa Haa, you should ask them lor.

I am on #04, and there is kid who blasts 4 subs in his room on #08, and I can hear his sub like its playing in my living room. :o Although I don't hear the music.

Im fortunate as I have a maisonette and while lounge is right above the downstairs master bedroom and despite having some latish movie nights the couple down stairs have never made any complaints or mentioned it.

my listening room is above the lounge (the old master bedroom) which is below the upstairs lounge so for late night my listening room is isolated and as its a corner unit there is nobody beside me either :D

so far no complaints anytime...but the pounding of chillis in the kitchen above our relocated master bedroom does wake us sometimes when sleeping in too late :P

Farni thing is, he may not hear it. Low bass travels a longer distance. Perhaps you are hearing the strong clean bass which he simply wants but cannot get  :)
