Guest Jerry Posted March 4, 2003 Share Posted March 4, 2003 Comingsoon.net: Columbia Pictures and Senator International will partner on the thriller feature 30 Days of Night, to be produced by Ghost House Pictures, the production company launched last year by Senator, Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert. The Hollywood Reporter says Columbia Pictures will handle North American distribution of the film as well as a few international territories, with Senator International handling the balance of the international rights. The film is based on the comic book series of the same name. It will be set in Barrow, Alaska, the northernmost town in the United States, where, in the middle of winter, the sun sets and does not rise again for more than 30 consecutive days and nights. From the darkness, across the frozen wasteland, comes an evil force that strikes terror into the residents of Barrow. All hopes are pinned on the local sheriffs, a husband-and-wife team who must choose between saving themselves and helping the town survive the terrifying siege until daylight returns.
