yobs
I've been a lurking member for too long -- I think I first joined 8 years back! -- so thought I'd say hi. I thought I found my end game speakers a few years back, but just started delving into DIY speakers last year (which felt like an achievement unlocked) first with some known builds, and then my own designs. Will hopefully get around to posting about it soon (it's fun to nerd out about). Edited May 7, 2020 by yobs
anandpkumar
Welcome to the forum......which are these end game speaker that you thought you had? I have great respect for those who DIY their own audio. How about showcasing your build in the 'DIY Audio projects' section? Cheers!
yobs
Thanks! They're Harbeth SHL5 -- still have and love them, but also wondering if I could build something that equals or betters them. I'm sure there's lots out there that might, but that's about the limit of my budget bar DIY for now!
John Baseley
Wow. Harbeth speakers. Lovely. Yes- I'm also an avid DIY speaker enthusiast and watched with interest on the design and construction of the harbeth drivers.
yobs
I'd love to see the T/S specs + measurements for the Radial drivers. I've never opened the SHL5s though. A bit hesitant to in case I blemish them in some way. I wonder if stiffened/reinforced poly cones have much cone break up or if they're still quite smooth?
