PIXIES - Doolittle (Original Master Recording MoFi vinyl)

I thought the reissue 4AD wasn't too bad but this sounds so much better. Didn't know what I had been missing all this time.

Sun Kil Moon – Benji

Did he not release many vinyl copies, as all SKM vinyl seems hard to come by?

He released limited runs of 900-1300 copies in 6 different colours of this one. All his albums are limited pressings so it pays to buy them as soon as they are released or risk paying 2 or 3 times the price in a years time.

I remember buying that EP when it came out and reading that Nuclear free line, and feeling quite proud to be a Kiwi.

Hail vinyl.

Yes, politics were part of much art in those days in one way or another. I was in the studio while they recorded some of those tracks; my brother played cello.

SIGURDSSON VALGEIR  - architect of loss

Icelandic score for a ballet, chamber music set to electronic tones. At times mesmerizingly peaceful and beautiful, other times vehemently driving and rhythmic.

Simply engaging!

BODUF SONGS - this alone above all else

Solo male voice, piano, plus others and  emotion. Can't ask for much more.

(Well except maybe a quieter pressed vinyl but that's only a very minor niggle on the quiet tracks).

Small world.

I wish I could play the cello. Had a few months wrestling with one but soon realised I was more atuned to appreciating it rather than playing it.

And it didn't fit on my bicycle...

J MASCIS – Several Shades Of Why and Tied To A Star vinyl Soooo much betterer than Dinosaur Jr
:)
Loving these two albums!

Both excellent albums. Tied To A Star might be in my end of year top 10

Must pick up a copy of Tied To A Star - have heard nothing but good things about it - went to grab it on Flying Out the other day but they'd sold out...

Use promo code oct1425 for another 25% off. Code still works, rumoured to be active until 25th Nov. So about US$10.

Shipping is only $8.95 per order, plus US$1 per LP.

Buy a few LPs and the postage is via FedEx, delivered in about 5 days.

How well do they pack their vinyl, have you had any damages?

Thanks for that Cliff! And by thanks I mean damn you for costing me a LOT of dosh! This is pretty much too good to be true. In an age where you get charged $23 US to ship a single LP to NZ....the $18.50 total shipping for 9 (NINE) LP's is just mental. I have sent an email asking when the discount code expires! God help me....

Outer boxes squashed but no damage to inner packaging. Have had 6 boxes delivered so far. One LP had a light scratch, one slightly warped which my VinylFlat fixed, which I told them about but they're still sending me replacements for both.

5 days? my order was sent oct 17. still waiting for it. :(

I wondered what that strange extra box was... :)

My replacements, individual pre-orders/backorders are shipping slower, 10-20 day estimate.

Otherwise, its been 4-6 working days for my boxes.

I'd contact them if yours still hasn't arrived. Takes about two days for them to respond, but US folks have had great service when phoning them.
