Hi all i have left this too the last second as usual for me at xmas...So went looking for a cheap 2ch portable with a usb connection for background music for xmas dinner outside at our place this year and all were not up to scratch for me. So i have an old pair of jamo 7.3 (6 ohm 87 sens) bookshelf speakers that have not been used in years and thought i would try to find a amp to run em,Found a source in a cheap pioneer dvd player (dv-220) that has a usb input and i needed a new cheap dvd player for the shed anyways ($99)..But the amp has got me buggered don't know which way to go and have been surfing internet all arvo. Should i bite the bullet and go a little cambridge 550 (out of budget really) or look for a cheap multi channel and use its dacs to improve the mp3 sound. Pioneer vsx 520 $333..? Yammy rxv 367 $350? Cheers Geoff.

PS. Just thinking should have put this in the multi ch section but will only used in 2ch mode.

Are you looking for something that you will hold onto and use with a decent(ish) system, or just something that will sound OK and do the job for Christmas and other such events?

If it's the latter, normally I would suggest ebay... but seeing as Christmas is only around the corner, I'd visit your local Cash Converters and see what they have for $50-100.

Really depends what you're after, and what your short-term and long-term intentions are for this gear.

Got a home system already but it would be used for patio sound for ongoing bbq's and when the other half is gardening so it will get some use and might even give it a flog myself so yeh , Like most things in this house if its a good thing it will get used. 2 teenagers as well so a spare would be handy.
