Lee_01 Posted November 27, 2018 Posted November 27, 2018 Hi all. I’ve got a Thorens 147 with an EU power supply that I’m looking to upgrade to a 3-pin AU one. If anyone has one for sale or knows where to get one I’d love to hear from you. Cheers,Lee
Ian McP Posted November 27, 2018 Posted November 27, 2018 apparently the Pro Ject Speedbox is compatible with 16V Thorens turntable motors https://www.theaudioexperts.com.au/product/pro-ject-speed-box-s-ac-from-theaudioexperts/ http://audiokarma.org/forums/index.php?threads/curious-experience-with-pro-ject-speedbox-ii-and-thorens-td-147.361716/ 1

Interesting proposition. Unfortunately the reason I’m looking is cause shelf space is at a high premium so I’m trying to reduce where I can.Still, tempting.

Cheers, Lee Expand The AU version has two prongs It does not have an Earth prong It uses an A C / AC Adaptor - 240 AC to 12 V AC ( not DC ) I have included two photos of my TD 147 unit for reference and to use the specs to help with the search 1

Full Range Posted November 27, 2018 Posted November 27, 2018 @Lee_01 The Euro model is 220 V But I can confirm that my power supply spins the platter at true speed on the TD 147

Seems to be a few adapters out there for 16v too

Midori Posted November 30, 2018 Posted November 30, 2018 (edited) Isn’t the adaptor ac-ac? IMHO, it shouldn’t matter much. There should be an onboard ac-dc converter that will take a range of input voltages within limits. at least this is the case for my td320 Edited November 30, 2018 by coeuslee 1
