Used to own one of these (prefer the ST/VT60's, though this is a very excellent TV... and something of a steal at $700).

Would suggest the ad gets amended a little to remove the Skype reference: it's been over a year since Skype for TV was discontinued, and Samsung has pulled it from their repositories (e.g. if not done already the next update will delete Skype - which was a shame, it worked very very well on this TV).

Would add to the OP that parts for these are plentiful and not expensive at all, and that it's possible with a few commands you'd find online to have the TV believe it's in another country, and to bring up a default app selection from another region (nice for all the VPN freaks here, and not something you can do with every TV on the market).

If I was in NSW I'd buy this for a family member in a heartbeat. Excellent TV and a ridiculously low price. GLWTS.

Thanks for the performance nod, yes it has very good picture quality, the Smart Hub updated itself last time I went to it and the Skype icon was still there, not that I used it.

Cheers George

I have the PS64E8000 and it's a fantastic TV with excellent picture quality.  Agreed that the only upgrade from this TV for me would have to be OLED.

It's also possible to upgrade the SmartHub in these TVs to a newer version by getting an "Evolution Kit" which is a plug in board with a new CPU.

Added selling point then :)

I am looking for another TV but its always hard to decide between New and second hand. How heavy is this? I think i would need to lay it flat to make it fit in my SUV.

I've got a guy from Gumtree who "said" he's coming around 3pm  3.30pm to get it, but you never know.

And no problems laying a plasma flat it's furphy. And it's around 30kg with the stand.
