  1. Can I have this please? I'm in WA too. PM sent.
  2. I use the Audio GD power cable and for the price it was an excellent buy. I started with one and after a week ordered 2 more so my DAC, pre and power now all use them. ACSS is also worth the upgrade. I've tried Robertson Audio (good, needed about 100 hours burn in) and now am using Belden 8402 (better) and currently waiting on some Western Electric cables from Bill.
  3. Pictures of the back panel & insides would help too. The serial numbers also sometimes start with an abbreviation of the model number.
  4. Could be! Either way, it's good of you to put this up in Pay it Forward 🙂
  5. This is the PSU board from an Emotiva XSP1 preamp (but could be in other models as well). There are a few threads around on this - short version is questionable quality caps and some components running near their ratings limits. That was really surprising as the amp itself is really nicely built. I repaired & upgraded one for a friend recently using Nichicon caps & better diodes in the bridges. It really lifted the performance of the preamp nicely.
  6. The comments I have seen are that the PCM1704s have a warmer sound vs more detail out of Kingwa's R2R modules. However, when I upgraded my digital board from the same one the NOS7 uses to the next generation, there was a significant improvement in detail and reduction in grain. This improved further when Audio-GD released Accusilicon clocks and firmware upgrades. I can still run NOS mode if I want too. The benefit with the newer DACs is that you can control all this from the front panel vs jumper settings, but I've just settled on 8XOS.
  7. I have a Master 7S + DI-20 combo and it continues to provide me with great enjoyment. My DAC has the same digital board as the R7 but not the newer R7 MK2. Nevertheless, the M7S is a DAC that has detail and warmth without fatigue. The DI-20 is a very worthwhile addition as is a good quality HDMI cable to join them. I didn't get the HE version as I have a PS Audio P10 already and Kingwa advised that the HE version wasn't warranted give the power regeneration already in place. The MK2 version has a newer digital board which by all reports improves the DAC even further. The best place to find more info on this DAC is the HeadFi thread, but it is big read - https://www.head-fi.org/threads/new-audio-gd-r7-r2r-7-r8-flagship-resistor-ladder-dacs.853902/ Hope this helps.
  8. Further information: I was using this HDMI cable for an I2S connection between my DAC & DDC and have now invested in a more expensive cable. Whether it be I2S audio of HDMI video, a good quality cable can be both seen and heard. Bang for your buck and with 5 minutes work to swap this cable in, it's a satisfying upgrade that's hard to beat. This shorter length is also perfect for source components close to your theatre amp. Current pricing is around $120 on-line More info - https://www.wireworldcable.com/hdmi-2.0-cables.html#hdmitop Wireworld Chroma 7 (CHH) Oxygen Free Copper HDMI Cable, with heavy 24 gauge OFC conductors in the flat Symmetricon design, Chroma provides greater imaging and sonic precision than conventional round HDMI cables. You'll be amazed at the visual clarity of this cable, and the dynamic sound quality will really surprise you. Symmetricon Design: Symmetricon design provides similar advantages to the more complex DNA Helix design in lower-cost applications. This innovation enables more of the original signal information to be reproduced than conventional cables, increasing both clarity and dynamics for lifelike sound and imaging. Symmetricon effectively doubles the area where electromagnetic energy is channelled efficiently through the cable. Composilex® 2 Insulation: Beyond the advantages of the best conductor materials, our second-generation composite insulation, Composilex 2, preserves the purity of the signal by minimizing triboelectric noise better than any conventional insulation material, including DuPont Teflon®. Composilex 2 provides rewarding improvements in vividness, focus and dynamic contrast. With these innovations, Wireworld Series 7 cables have advanced the art of reproducing the power and delicacy of music. 9. Item: Velodyne CHT-12Q with Location: WA, Perth SOR Price Range: $0 + a donation to SNA from you Item Condition: New or Used Extra Info: Pick up only When it worked the Velodyne 12" sub was a great sub - tight low bass. The main amp module failed and was replaced and then the second one failed. I didn't want to waste more money at an amp that cooked itself, so I replaced it with a 500W class D mono block grafted into the Velodyne front end so I could still use the room EQ function. But that front end died too. I was going to rebuild the sub just to use the 500W module but just don't have time for this and have another sub already. This is the 500W module that is included and still works - http://connexelectronic.com/product/irs500smps/ and sells for USD$120. So, this is a great sub project for someone with a little spare time and ability. I could probably try and sell the amp module separately but would be happy to see the whole thing go as a project for someone. However, you must make a donation to SNA, the amount of which I will leave to your conscience. Pick up only from Perth (South of the River)
  10. I had one of these & it's a great DAC. The PCM1704 DAC chips are very listenable for extended sessions. The only reason I sold it was to get it's big brother (Master 7).

  12. Further information: This is a well constructed and well powered headphone amp that is a great entry point into head-fi. The internals are impressive - R-core transformer, generous PSU caps, high speed diodes and socketed op-amps for easy rolling. It's incredibly quiet too - no hiss whatsoever on my Hi-Man 4XX headphones. As far as I can tell, it is a clone of a HA-5000 headphone amp and the current model sells for AUD$138 - https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32669541286.html Condition would be classified as excellent except for a couple of scratches (bottom of the front panel and the lid - see photos) Shipping would be about $18 in a 5kg satchel with it packed safely for transit. 13. Further information: The Denon DL103 series of cartridges have something of a cult following. Their already excellent performance can be enhanced by a more rigid body and many companies offer new bodies in wood or aluminium, requiring you to remove the old body and then potting / glueing it into the new body. If you're not comfortable pulling apart your prized possession, then the next best option is to buy an aluminium cap body that fits over the existing body, still providing the benefits of extra rigidity. I purchased this body for a Denon DL-103R that I never got around to using (I'm selling the Denon DL103R separately here - https://www.stereo.net.au/forums/topic/338492-fs-denon-dl103r-mc-cartridge-like-new/ ) Here is the website for the body - https://www.denonaluminumbody.com/ and a few quotes too - - “My conclusion is that [The Cap] produced a significant sonic improvement.“ - “There are many ways to modify a 103 into a super-cartridge… this is the most cost-effective way to do it — you won’t find a better upgrade to your analog rig than The Cap” Photos: (Please note - the images with a cartridge are from the manufacturer's website - a cartridge is not included)
  14. Further information: Looking for an easy upgrade to your digital audio - consider a new USB cable! The Furutech GT2 PRO USB is one such upgrade & to quote some reviews - "The result? Clear and open highs, elegant midrange textures, powerful but controlled bass and an enhanced sense of the sheer palpability of the music. The GT2 Pro creates a true musical experience from the data stored on your computer.

Furutech produces every cable in their range in the same way: optimized engineering solutions applied to advanced materials and processes, backed by utterly meticulous build quality." https://www.monoandstereo.com/2014/04/furutech-gt2-pro-usb-20-cable-new.html "First, I found the GT2 help minimize background noise and hash—something you (or at least I) tend to perceive not so much as a “heightened sense of quietude,” but rather as “more low-level sonic information becoming discernible.” Second, I found that the GT2s went right after those spitty, edgy, splashy upper midrange and treble transients that had been bothering me." http://www.theabsolutesound.com/articles/first-listen-furutech-gt2-audiophile-grade-usb-cables/ The cable construction is also impressive- - Featuring 24k Gold-Plated Nonmagnetic USB 2.0 Connectors - Furutech’s Newα(Alpha) OCC Silver Copper Alloy Conductor with superior high-density polyethylene insulation/dielectric. - Three-layer shielding Current new pricing is $325 Photos: PLEASE READ If you are advertising multiple items, you must post one bulk price only, or post seperate ads for each item If you include any reference to pricing whatsoever in this section (excluding RRP), your ad will not be approved If you don't include photographs of the actual item being sold, your ad will not be approved
