AMCNAD Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 Hi all Would like opinions on the 7701 vs 7702 mii? Pairing with Elektra HD2 and unlikely to want ATMOS Is sound quality for music and DTS MA likely to be the same? Can get the 7701 for about 1/3 of new 7702 mii
sero Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 None has one yet mate... Read the reviews on avs! 1/3 so $1000 vs $3000 no brainer really...
betty boop Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 if not needing atmos or newer/future capability probably best just grab the old one at bargain. there'll always be newer/ better ...but will cost more. so matter of weighing up whether worth it for you.
AMCNAD Posted November 26, 2015 Author Posted November 26, 2015 There is always an upgrade around the corner ?
yammy-san Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 (edited) I think atmos should be the next upgrade as you will eventually go into it sooner. I would most definitely like to hear out one of these 7701 or 7702 to get a feel of them. Only if hifi shops had a hardware leasing programme. Or do they? Without commitments to buy? AMCNAD Posted November 28, 2015 Author Posted November 28, 2015 Am going to go the AV7701 now and then upgrade later when new codecs are old codecs ?

AMCNAD Posted November 28, 2015 Author Posted November 28, 2015 Yes I am sure those that forked out $3k for a 7702 are spewing that it's not upgradable to DTS-X (as far as I know). Let it settle down a bit. I am sure the AV7701 will do every thing I want (for now ?)
AMCNAD Posted December 3, 2015 Author Posted December 3, 2015 I read on line that the AV7701 has a bi-amp mode (using the rear balanced outputs) but I cannot find anything in the manual Can anyone confirm? Thanks
sero Posted December 3, 2015 Posted December 3, 2015 3k for the mkii which has dts x comes standard and option to upgrade to auro3d

Thanks I don't think this is true ... A mate had one and was unimpressed that he could not find such a setting and has to use a splitter (as he had his mains setup for bi-amp previously).
AMCNAD Posted December 6, 2015 Author Posted December 6, 2015 Thanks for the reply That would be disappointing
