Toshiba must be totally delighted with the PS3's launch given all the money spent on Sony's advertising campaign.

I wonder if ACA will highlight Blu-ray's resounding success.

Sorry, I am just being cynical ........HJ where are you ?

C.M

He's trapped under a pile of unsold PS3's in the store room of the HN he works for

Well you know where he's not ... waiting in line at Toys'R'Us with his credit card at the ready.

My guess he's one of the "industry" people standing hovering and nervously biting their fingernails while declaring the launch a massive success.

So, has anybody received their free copy of Casino Royale yet for being one of the first 20,000 to sign up with their PS3?

I could have sworn I read on a Sony AU site that you should allow at least 30 days delivery.

Its weird that you are complaining about the AQ of the PS3, when plenty of US owners (as noted on AVS forums) praising it. I am sure many own much better equipment than you are

Excuse me, but my main amp is an Aragon 8008Mk2, RRP $10,000; 3 of Rotel RB1080 surround amps at $1500 each; AV controller is a Parasound Halo C2, RRP $8000; interconnects all PS Audio XLR's RRP $3000+; Power cables all PS Audio, RRP $3000+; Speaker cables AudioQuest Mammoth, RRP $2000; Power Director for power conditioning, $4000; etc etc all up my sound system is worth well over $30k. I stand by my original assessment, which is not limited to any significant extent by my audio gear. But I will experiment with the different audio formats as suggested, and see if I can tweak some better performance.

Sony said that no one will get it before it's official release date.

I think it is April 11, don't quote me on that though.

EDIT: No it was released today...

JB Hi Fi were actually selling the BD title on the 3/4.

Well, it's 45 days AFTER the "official" release of BD which is on 14th April.

It does not matter if DVD was released on 4th, or someone's selling BD already, it's quite a bit of logistic issue for Sony to ship out 20K copies, I am sure the guy who's in charge of this task is taking his time.

Being a Bond fan (on a budget) I am annoyed as much as everyone else that this is taking so long, but that's also why I keep these details in my head.

.....which would mean 54 days still to go.

This was posted by an admin on the PS forums on Tuesday.

Hi All,

The Casino Royale Blu Ray Movie is officially released on the 4th April, 2007.

If you have registered your PlayStation Network (PSN) Account, then you are eligible for this promotion.

Any accounts using the Pre-Registration System that was setup late last year and have since been "Activated" with the use of the PS3 are eligible, those that still have those accounts 'On Hold' are not eligible.

Please allow for up to 2-3 working weeks for distribution as this will start from when Casino Royale is officially released.

Not sure if it has been said some where else beejay but your setup is very impressive. It must be a real audio experience. Very jealous.

haha - what is a "working week"?

Thats good to hear - a few weeks after launch is about what I expected, though obviously the sooner the better. I saw CR a couple of times at the cinema and I can't wait to see it again, on Blu-ray

I have a Japanese PS3 and successfully signed up to the Aussie PSN. I signed up on launch night. But I imported Casino Royale, got it last week. Stuff waiting around weeks to see if I got it, only to find out it only works on region B. Supose I'll just sell it on ebay.

Got the same one. Lets hope the 45 days mentioned is just to cover their ass in case they do take an extral long time for some reason and the 2-3 weeks mentioned is more realistic.

I wouldn't count on it knowing Sony and some of their previous promotions, but I'm glad they sent out the emails. After catching the trailer I've gotta say I'm looking forward to it arriving in my mailbox in the next couple of months.

I received the e-mail too

I was about to go out and buy it, I hired the DVD last night but haven't watched it yet so I might just wait now.
