FredP
Hi all, Will any SD set top boxes display the HD channels at "SD" resolution? I believe that the networks may have differrent content on the HD channels in the near future? Thanks and regards Fred

If you put an SD-STB onto channels 9HD, 10HD or ABCHD you'll probably get a black screen and maybe some sound (if the box is Dolby capable). 7HD and SBSHD will give you a picture but it'll be full of glitches because of the progressive scanning that SD-STBs aren't designed for. pgdownload
Same way ABC2 is meant to be an extra feature of having a STB. Differing HD content will be used to encourage HD purchases. I wouldn't be all that concerned though. HD is an will remain a small % of the viewing public for a long while to come. Anything 'good' will always be shown in SD to get the widest possible audience.
